Looking for points of view with the new buff to legendary's, will crafting supply prices rise? And will they be worth buying now to make a profit after patch drops

Prices for plans and brimstone have already risen. The pop occurred right after the patch announcement. This is my prediction...With a greater likelihood of yellow drops occurring, the more likely you'll get that epic yellow piece. Additionally, legendary drops will not change and remain elusive. Lastly, if legendaries will receive a really good buff as promised, the demand will increase. This will lead to legendaries becoming the new most wanted items on the AH lists as far as weapons and armor goes.

I've got a bunch of tears stored. They're dirt cheap and I expect blizzard wants them to be worth more than essences, so I bet they will up the number of tears needed per craft.

If you have surplus brimstones, sell them now. Just made 12 million on 30.

I wish I had more money to turn into other assets such as crafting materials, but I can't find a good way to make quick cash and get out of the slums. I have a few nice pieces that should fetch around 1M but nobody in trade chat ever wants to buy for a fair price and my items just get lost in the AH with all of the other 'similar' items. I'm trying to sell a 1,235 DPS XBOW with 3% lifesteal and it won't even show up in the first 25 pages if people search 2-H crossbows. Any advice on quick ways to liquidate some assets?

@@rangoeltango Sometimes I play Hell public games and check out other players builds to see if they need something. If they do, I just shift-click an item for the group to see and hope someone bites with an offer. Sold many pieces this way in Hell and Inferno.

I wouldn't invest too heavily in legendaries just yet. Considering how yellows will still have the most variety and freedom it might not be a good choice to consider legendaries as 'most wanted'

If anything, I want the new legendaries just for the novelty of some of them (e..g, Firewalkers).

unfortunately, the best and easiest way is to lower the price until your xbow shows up in the top 3 when you search for something similar.
many people operate on a budget and they will try to buy the best they can for that price.

For example, if you filter by lifesteal (and whatever other good stat your xbow has) and cap the price the 200'000 (or whatever amount, no idea how much your xbow is worth) and your xbow is still somewhere in page 12 or 13, it will probably not sell.
If you cap the price at 100'000 and it's now in the top 3 or 5 (when sorted by dps) then it will likely sell.
It will be bought by someone who doesn't want to (or can't) spend more than 100'000.

you have to find a way to make it visible.

Bought plans and brims for an investment and sold a Demon's Carapice Set for $150 and about 70 brims for $50 total within 6 hours of the legendary patch release. All previously bought with farmed gold 30 mil for the plans and 180 to 233k each for the the brims. Play the market if you have the gold to do so.

Best 3 things imo;

- We're upping the allowed number of "Preferred Stats" per search from 3 to 6.
- Players can now search for stats on Legendary items! Yay!
- Armor, DPS, Buyout, and Time Left columns are now sortable columns in the Search tab.

not sure "Time Left" is a good thing... it will just encourage sniping.

I'm confused as to why the price of lower end rare weapons (less than 2m) rose... You figure with the item buffs they would decrease.

I guess maybe now that gold is worth less (compared to the $) that prices for items just went up?

Wish I wasn't broke right now LOL

I would say demand. More players coming in and looking to upgrade their gear. They (including me) can't afford the 5 million gear, but we can afford the 500k-1.5 million gear. The increased demand in that threshold has been driving prices up.
