Is anyone else attempting to complete all of the achievements? I personally have 3 or 4 categories of achievements at 100% and am looking for the time intensive ones now. The unique collection achievement and the one percent (100m gold collected) are looking to be the ones that will take me the longest.
I'm looking for people also hunting uniques and achievements, and can answer any questions you have about how to best complete them. Also, for someone who plays sc all the time, the hc achievements will take a while. |
Achievement Hunting

In one word....
Nope. Although I do have a considerable amount done. I'll complete em if they're not 'out of my way' |

I'm trying to get the 1% also. Leveling all classes to 60 and passing inferno with them.

Hey. I'm on the EU server, so in terms of direct help I'll be useless.
BUT... I am an achievement hunter. At the moment all that is left for me are the bugged ones, (rare and elites done as far as possible) 1 Unique - Growlfang. And then pickup another 50mil. So I can help in terms of advice with more or less any achievement. As for unique hunting. I did a lot of them solo. Then I actually started using the official blizz forum. It helped me a lot. On the EU forum under the "quest" tab all the unique hunters post their lists, along with a bounty they offer. I added my list on the forum, and within a couple of days I went from needing 21 uniques and 1 ghost to needing only 1 last unique. By now I also have most of the other hunters on my friends list. Added one at a time as I either found a unique for them, or they found one for me. Having a unique "network" helps a ton. Another piece of advice for hunting Uniques is try to find screenshots on the net for the ones you are looking for. A lot of the forum information are just copied and pasted between the various forums, with the result that they are ALL wrong. For example: Growlfang, the one I'm still missing. Most forums / databases claims he is to be found in Skycrown Battlements. But all screenshots I have seen of him were taken in Arreat Crater 1. So in short, before spending hours hunting down a unique, do some research and make sure you are hunting in the correct area. |

Nice to meet another achievement hunter. Do you have any idea how long the unique achievement will have taken you when completed? I've been tracking so that I can make side trips during runs to where I need to go to finish my uniques, and that has helped pick up a lot, but I will need to focus in to finish them up.
Forums are a great idea! Thanks! |

Hmmm, I actually have Growlfang, but I have NO IDEA where I found him.
That Wheel of Misfortune achievement is pretty annoying. Not that I would ever grind for it, but I have 8/10 of the possibilities and I haven't managed to find a new one in the past 10 tries or so. I know one of them is The Fowl Lair since I'm also missing that dungeon. |

I found Growlfang yesterday. Was in Arreat Crater 1 as all screenshots show.
Wheel of Misfortune took me about 2 entire days over a weekend. I was 9/10 after about two hours, and then took another (what felt like) million hours to get the last one. As for unique hunting. Well, first off, the reason I left this for last is that if you plan to get 10 chars to lvl 60, and finish hardcore (where you may lose some chars and have to restart) you will be passing most areas many times. I suggest doing this first, and only after this see which uniques you still miss. When I started just unique hunting I had about 40 missing. The first 15 or so I did solo, the rest I did with the help of the Blizz forum hunters. I started roughly the 20th of November and I finished yesterday. Playing a minimum of 3 hours every day. So it was about 150 hours playtime. So quite a big time investment now that I look back on it. But what I did, which helped a lot. I make a list of all the uniques I need per act, as well as the areas they spawn in. (I assume you know that each unique spawn in only one specific area) Then I would do a run that covers these areas only. Do it on inferno M0, or even hell diff or lower. You want to run through the area as fast as possible. Don't bother looting items, or gaining XP. Your aim is to cover the area as quickly as possible since you will probably have to do them many times. (I used Monk with tailwind, just running as fast as I could) Then just run them in a sequence that you feel comfortable with. Your route will become shorter and shorter until you are left with only one area to scan. Keep in mind that RNG and LUCK plays a massive role. Some of the uniques took me 100+ runs of the same area to find, others I found on the 5th try. |

Bashiok still eludes me. I keep that stupid sword on hand on whatever character I'm using just in case.

@Khan you may also want to check out the blizz forums for him.
I have seen multiple "found Bashiok" posts on the EU forum while I was busy with my unique hunting. P.s. You know you have to have a pre 1.05 sword right? The new swords are bugged and they don't give the achievement. |

I didn't know that. Crap.
I had one in my stash for a long time, then binned it. |
