i have atm 1000+ LoH for my wiz, but after watching some livestream D3 i noticed that a CM wiz can survive at a lower LoH number say 550, so with this possibility i could seek a lower LoH item and exchange mine with cc or cd etc... so how low have you guys played the CM wiz in terms of LoH ?

700 LoH seems to be the sweet spot for me. 550 would be pushing it I think but my wiz is also a fairly low paragon level.

1000 does seem to be a bit too much. I ran with 1200 for a long time though just because I wanted more, not because I needed it. The general number that gets thrown around is 800 LoH is what CM wizards should go for.

I read the other day that the faster the attack speed, the faster the proc, the more the ticks produced hence a low LoH rate would suffice enough to fill up the health jar/bowl (or whatever you guys call it) so fast the difference is unnoticeable,

probably the significance is different regarding what mp level we are playing?

i probably put this to the test....

The equation involves more than the LOH number - consideration must be given to your offense skills, resistances, armor, and life pool. A fundamental difference also arises if the function is farming or ubers.

For farming, if you're at the "standard" of 2.73/50/20 with moderate EHP then you can probably get by with MP * .7 or even less. My standard gear LOH is just the +625 from the amulet, and I function reasonably well in MP9 and MP10. However, I also use Time Warp in lieu of Explosive Blast, so that means that I have less to recover from in facing Reflect Damage mobs. Having high LOH just does more to ensure that you can easily take otherwise avoidable damage like standing at melee range of Electric mobs or swimming in desecrator pools. Otherwise, if your armor is high enough you can probably function with LOH as low as 400.

For high MP ubers, 1K is a base minimum for me. I think my alternate ring puts me at 1200. Regardless, without the ring I can't tank MP10 Ghom farts, but with it I can.
