Stash space issues

I'm starting to run into stash space issues. The only way to customize characters in D3 is through items, but now that I have 4 classes I can gear up and play in Inferno I'm practically out of stash space and mule space. I refer to "slots" as a 2-slot base (i.e., a sword takes up a single "slot").

For any builds that require extra attack speed, I need a Tal Rasha's Chest which means a Strength, Int and Dex Chest. Same goes for Mempos, Andariel's Visage, Asheara's boots, Inna Pants and Lacuni Prowlers which means a total of 18 slots to keep a set of high IAS gear for each class.

Nat's set is the absolute best way to add CC, so I need a set of Str, Dex, Int Nat's Boots and Nat's Helm which takes up 6 more slots.

When a build needs Life and/or LoH, the best gear for that is class-appropriate Blackthorn's Pants so that's 3 more slots right there. Good crafted bracers and shoulders for each class costs 6 more slots.

Having spread myself across classes, I have relatively low paragon on each class so if I want to do some item farming, I need a few pieces of MF gear for every main stat so let's call that about 12 more slots. Some GF gear for when I'm going to aim for 1 percent is 6 slots. I do the same for high Vit/AR gear so we'll say 9 more slots for those.

I've finally been able to afford nice trifecta gloves for 2 of the 3 classes so I don't need to keep separate IAS/CC, IAS/CD, CC/CD gloves for each class. Only one more character to build to clvl 60 so my 20+ slots of leveling gear should open up soon enough.

That was just the basics for have a base of equipment for every build. Now we start getting into the build-specific pieces.

You need a separate Weapon/offhand combination for every single build so if you're running 12 builds so that's about 24 slots.

You need nearly full class-sets for each class so that's around 13 more (Nat's pieces and Tal Rasha's already in the general there).

You also need skill bonus set pieces for each build so add at least 6 more slots for that.

SoJ's and/or Skull Grasp are a requirement for every single build so there goes around 6 slots (12 half-slots). If you need a Mara's Kaleidoscope, then those take up around 3 slots (6 half-slots).

And now theme builds on top of the class-specific builds. I need a full set of gear for a thorns build. I need a full set of gear for a Crowd Control Build. My White Armor only gear is a full set. Let's round out theme builds at 30 slots or so.

Tack on 24 slots for miscellaneous belts, bracers, shoulders, pants, jewelry, and boots. Mats and potions take up 9 half-slots (4 Gems, 4 craft mats, 1 back-up potion stack) in the stash.

8 slots for AH gear. 6 slots for swapping out equipped items.

None of what I list above is unreasonable at all for an average power player that wants variety in the game. Assuming infinite wealth so you don't need to make any compromises on equipment and that means a bare minimum of 184.5 equipment slots between stash, wearables, mules.

Stash holds 105 slots. Inventories holds 30 slots. 4 characters wear 44 slots.

I'm hoping to have 2 HC characters at some point so that means 3 mules and a grand total of 179 open slots for 184.5 equipment slots. 184.5 > 179.

2 more stash pages would add 70 slots. 249 open slots for 184.5 equipment slots. Wow! I could even start a monk.

Every week I play I get more angry at Blizzard's tremendous lack of foresight with this game.

Let me help you double your storage space for $60.

Buy another copy of the game.

@nuhertz Would that be considered macrotransactions?

Not sure. I'm most certainly not the expert on this.

I definitely feel your frustration with the storage space. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the expansion allowed you to use the space that's there for two additional tabs of space in your stash.

Ditto. Maybe characters should have their own stash, and have access to "shared" stash.

Either way, more room needed.

Knowing them, they would just replace 1 of the shared stash tabs with a character stash tab...
Now that I think of it, that wouldn't actually be a terrible thing. Barb doesn't really share equipment with anyone so it would work pretty well for them and then essentially, 1 tab to share between DH/Monk and 1 tab to share Wiz/WD.

I've been dealing with it by using the AH to store all my items.

Not in the traditional "leave 50 cancelled auctions up" but by selling anything of value, and buying what I need when I need it.

The value of items has been dropping so fast that I'd rather have the gold or rmah value. Plus it keeps my stash neat and organized.

All these BOA crafting recipes are the problem......
