Having built every class before my Monk, I have accumulated a fair amount of All Resist gear from my other characters. I just built up her equipment so I don't have an OWE res set. My only blinking light "Pick me! Pick me!" gear right now is a great defensive set of crafted Arcane/AR shoulders.

Given that I already have 367 AR on my gear without any on my Helm, bracers or jewelry, I think I could reasonably build up about 80-100 more AR without completely breaking the bank or destroying my dps.
The Monk passives are generally junk, but it seems like there's a point where enough AR makes Near Death Experience better than OWE.

Has anyone tried running a Monk without OWE? What did you like as a passive instead?

That's what I try and do to my Monk, safely but steadily breaking his OWE mold, if I had 40-50mil and get 2 pieces of Inna with AR like pants and belt, I would be all set.

@Raulz0r, it depends how much AR you want on your Pants and Belt. I kept bidding on gear in the 45 AR range and eventually got my set for around 25 million total. It took about 10 days of bidding to get a good deal on them, though. Inna Pants dropped in value for a few days for some reason and then went back up. I was lucky to get the deal I did get and probably could've flipped them in 5 minutes for a 4 million Gold profit.

The problem with AR gear is that it seems to require dropping vitality so I have to use the sockets for Amethysts and crafted Vitality shoulders instead of emeralds and Dex shoulders.

yeah one problem I seem to face myself is that of lack of Vitality, I struggle at the moment, think I will craft some vit shoulders until I get a decent AR and Dex roll on it

Went on a bit of shopping spree so I bought the Inna Chest, Pants and Belt + Ice Climbers for somewhere around 17mil.

I have recently moved away from OWE on my monk, but it does require quite a big investment, depending on the MP i'm playing. I used to run a full Inna set with poison res, which is much cheaper than a full set with AR.

MP8+ I still use OWE. MP7- I switch to Fleet footed instead.


*edit. Jus another note. When buying my Inna set I actually preferred high Vit values over high AR.
So my Pants and Belt has vit and high dex, but no AR.
