I have noticed that random legendary plans are becoming very expensive to buy. The strange thing is that there is no rhyme or reason as to why this is happening. Aside from the born's and Cain's set, there are at least 5 other (orange) plans that are ranging from 250 mil to 1.75 bil. What is even stranger is the fact thateople are actually buying these plans seemingly, based on the "average last 10 trades" graphic.

Anyone care to weigh in on this? I think I know what is going on, but, I am curious what you all think.

Which plans are going that high? A lot of the legendary plans craft some decent leveling gear, and might even be solid if they can roll iLVL 63 stats when an itemization patch hits.

I'm guessing you're thinking market manipulation. I still haven't personally seen a legendary plan drop.

I've had an eye on The Helm of Command for it's Block %, and the Asheara's plan because of how good the helm is, regardless of the remainder of the set, for leveling.

I remember reading a thread on Blizzards forums a few weeks ago from a guy saying he was trying to corner the market. I think this was in the same thread giving tips on how to make money on the action house that was removed. Someone on here posted a link to the cached page one of that thread.

I noticed that the plan prices increased dramatically soon after reading that thread.

I think it is crap that blizz removed that post, but I remember reading that about the leg plans as well. I had bought some a while back and flipped them on the RMAH which turned out to net me about $.35/1M gold. Was way better than the going rate of $.10/1M gold back then.

The do sell pretty well and I was keeping an eye on them, they all have jumped waaaay too high since the patch, but if you are cashing out some gold, for $...it is still a good option IMO. I haven't figured out the rates per 1M as of right now, but def something I have been looking into doing again.

Yeah, never had one drop for me either....I am sure if I ever do, it will be one of the crappy ones that are going for <1M gold lol.

@Pastamon so do you feel they're exclusively just rare commodities? The result of the crafts simply aren't worth more than the materials that go into them for the vast majority of the plans.

Personally, I'd like to be able to craft Cain's Set. Just something to do with my mats. The plan has been prohibitively expensive for me. Not that I can't afford it, it's just that I have no desire at the prices it's been at.

I've had one drop for me. "The Magi" ooh, what a weapon!! lmao

@ecocd I do just think they are a commodity....I really don't like the crafting in this game, I think it is a waste of time except for jewels and maybe Hellfire rings...that's about it.
