Apparently you can't actually bid on your own items. It has an error message that says something like "This is your item."
No bid was actually made, but I definitely felt stupid. |

Don't think I've ever done so by accident, but I've intentionally bid on an item I was already winning because it was still at a low price & close to the deadline, & I was worried it might get sniped out from under me at the last second....

The fact that Blizzard doesn't let you just increase your max bid instead of having to bid over yourself is flat out dumb. It should have been available on release. |

At launch you could bid and buy your own items. It was patched pretty quickly though, and you can no longer do so without a second account.
