Rend is amazing! I replaced frenzy for bash with the 24% bonus dmg rune for more fury and brings me up to 67k dps and I kill almost every white mob in act 3 with 1 rend. I think my run times have quartered.
Once I get more survivability I plan on switching runes from healing to increased range.

but you neefd like 30k+ dps for the good healing

Just noticed how much smoother rend feels to use when you have the frenzied shrine up, the cast seems to go by quicker allowing you to move again sooner. Good to see attack speed isnt a waste in a rend centric-build

Tried it in my ww build as replacement for WotB as suggested in some other forums. Felt nice and the heal was ok, yet what I clearly missed was the comfort of WotB's immunity to crowd control.

will definitely give it another go without WW build these days.

In your testing, were you Dual Wielding or 2Handing? I tried it with DW and found it to be a little lackluster still...

Was dual-wielding.

But found a nice 2H with str/crit/~900 loh since then so I'll be giving it another go asap.

Just tried it too. Heal backs seems better than revenge and there's no cooldown unlike revenge where you sometimes need to wait for mobs to start hitting you before it's triggered.

One thing bad about rend is it doesn't trigger the CD . It's practically useless for WW barb .

I'm a 2 handed Barb, and Rend got me through Act 3 no problem after it's buff. Before the buff, I couldn't even get past the catapult parts lol.

I dont think rend has much of a place in WW.
If you want it in a WW build I think you should have sick gear and replace war cry with it. The rest of the skills in WW are much better for the build.

I run a tank barb and i just hold my move key and hit rend once in a while, I dont ever stop moving for white mobs, I might miss legendaries once in a while thou because some mobs will die off screen but I love it.

I believe that rend has no place in a WW build because it is counter intuitive to the nature of the build itself. WW builds are about speed and efficiency, and if you have to stop to get a rend off then it would slow you down immensely. I actually use rend with revenge and cleave, and I can just run around mowing down waves of creeps with ease.

Rend can be in a WW build as a rage dump.

I feel like 1.05 will help rend become much more viable for WW barbs. With the damage reduction and warcry (impunity) nerf, more barbs can replace warcry for rend (a la Alkaizer). You'll still need ridiculous good gear though.

I think rend is good enough to be the main dps and fury dump as a main barb build.
Leap with iron impact, Rend with bloodlust rune, and overpower with crushing advance can increase ur survivability by a lot.
