Effective Health Pool (EHP) and Monks?

I have been doing some calculations on my monk trying to maximise damage output and keeping a good balance of armor/resists in order to hopefully be effective in PvP when it eventually gets released. Alot of people seem to use EHP as a good baseline for survivability, but that seems so convoluted for monks due to constant healing from life per spirit spent (especially when using transcendence)

Here is my profile: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/RippaSplitta-1342/hero/2814094
Right now I have just under 750,000 EHP

Using the EHP calculators, I am finding that vitality is the best way to up my EHP. Calling for help from other monks to see what your thoughts are as far as PvP effectiveness. Should I get more Vitality or just up my Life on Hit, keep my current health pool, and disregard the EHP stat using this class?

Thanks!

There's no hard data regarding PvP (as far as I know). Thus, it's impossible to predict what would be optimal in PvP. I'm certain they are going to scale things (CC effects, damage, armor, resist, AOE damage, invincibility), but since there is no data available regarding what the scales are, it's all speculation.

That being said, I've found around 700-800k EHP is pretty satisfactory for monks in Act 3 (with some LOH). I suppose it's possible to run through with less, but I haven't tried it. To do Act 4, I think 1M is the baseline. Those mobs just hit so hard and have pretty annoying abilities that EHP less than 1M is going to result in a lot of deaths.

You want enough vitality to survive 2-3 hits, past that extra regeneration or damage reduction helps a lot more than more raw health.

Armor itself seems to often get overlooked as well. If you're at the point where you're looking for big gear upgrades, and can afford to get picky, you'll notice that armor (or +strength) can also provide that additional boost.

With the incoming nerfs to seize the initiative, Id echo what Steeze said. Armor/str is going to be more effective to gear for than resists.
