IMO it's the player base.
I would love to see player base trends such as - # of new players - # of new characters lvling up - # online I notice things sold quicker when 1.0.4 came out. But with the rumours of the next patch, and people getting bored of paragon leveling already, the AH is deserted and there's no demand for mid-level items. |

I dont think the AH is deserted, i think the nerfs to mobs and everyone farming has pushed prices down HARD
