On a separate note--before Inferno & the nerf to Elemental Arrow - Nether Tentacles, I was making good use of a 2-handed bow with Life Steal on it. Then I switched to Life on Hit when I finally got to Inferno, cause I'd read on Blizzard's official forums that there was an across-the-board damage reduction to all Life Steal processes by a huge percentage (I think it was 80% less effective? Don't recall the exact amount).
Anyway, I've recently been reading that some amount of Life Steal on Inferno is still a valid option, &/or a combination of both LoH & LS (assuming dual-wielding) is good. Is there a minimum DPS one should be hitting before adding in some LS? & what's an ideal amount of each to have? Just curious. |

@eastdragon42 Yes, life steal is nerfed in inferno to be 20% of the stated value. On the other hand, it is not affected by proc rates like LoH. As far as comparing steal vs LoH, it depends on the skills you're using as well as attack speed. If you have 50k DPS with 1.0 APS, steal might be better, while 50k DPS with 3.0 APS could mean LoH would be better. The steal is purely based on the damage you do, but LoH is dependent on your attack speed and proc rate of the skill.
Most people I've seen say you should start moving to steal around 50-80k, but I'm not sure about a typical break point for a dual xbow DH. |
