i've got 2 weapon choices in front of me, and i'm trying to find best weapon to upgrade for a CM wizard (tornado build) Choices are: ~ 1200dps weapon === > dps upgrade comparison +9000 ~ 850dps weapon with lots of goodies === > dps upgrade comparison +14 000 oddly the lower dps weapon gives me MORE dps upgrade.. even though theres 300dmg difference between the weapons..which one would u guys go for? Wouldn't the tornado ticks more with the 1200dmg weapon?? even though character sheet says its a lower upgrade. |

crit dmg, intel, twister ofc both weapons have socket. I'm wondering. the lower weapon will make bigger crit, but working from a lower base weapon dmg.. is it really worth it?? compared to the very high base dmg weapon with intel.. |

Anyway we can get images of both? Possibly side by side comparison stats if you can't get images? Is there a reason why you think more ticks are going to happen with the other weapon such as greater attack speed or a crit chance for tornados? |

@Rakotobe crit damage can give you a huge DPS boost since your crit% should be very high as a CM wiz. But really, DPS is not at all the primary concern of a CM wiz. The main thing you want to do is get your IAS, crit%, and APoC as high as you can. Once you can freeze mobs well enough and don't have to worry about AP, then your concern can shift to DPS or survivability. If either of the weapons you mentioned have less than 1.4 APS, you probably don't want either of them. Depending on your budget, the Wizardspike or Chantodo's set wand can be really good choices. If you'd like to post your profile, we can give you more specific advice. You can also look at the link for either my or Khan's profiles as we both have a CM wiz. |

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Nahjaera-1721/hero/3045076 this is my profile. dont mind the weapon i'm currently using, i was thinking of going for a slorak wand or a high dps rare wand. I dont have any problems with my crit chance or survivability and with current 20apoc i seem to be doing ok, but a little bit more attack speed would be nice. p.s: budget is about 20mil |

I'd go for a 900ish DPS Chantodo's with APOC, above 1.6 attacks per second, and lifesteal or a socket. They're MUCH cheaper than the ones above 1000 DPS. With the money you save get a chants source with APOC. I ran with triums, occulus, and a full tal's set with crit chance and ias on the amulet. Nothing beat the chants set for serious CM/WW action. If not WW, then go with an occulus or tals for the added meteor bonus. My profile has my gold/xp farm set on right now. But add us in game if you want. |

thing is i dont mind chantodo wand..but the source with apoc is soooo expensive, that its out of reach of my budget :( i have to find alternative to getting attack speed beside offhand also the chantodo wand can't roll lifesteal & socket can it?? |

Nope. Just one or the other unfortunately. I've compensanted by sometimes using LOH items like a storm crow and blackthorne pants. But its not the same as lifesteal. |

I think your IAS has the most room for improvement. If you didn't already see, there's another thread with WW tick rates as they change with APS so you know what to shoot for. You could afford a mempo of twilight with no crit chance (probably ~2mil). If you do that you'll need to get APoC from your wand/source only, which is fine if you stay 18+. I think the 9% IAS would help more than the 4% crit you'll lose. You'll also gain a good amount of eHP. I agree with Khan that a chants wand would be the easiest upgrade. I'm not sure how much the socket or steal ones cost, but bonus vs elite ones were pretty cheap when I looked (but nowhere near as strong as throwing an emerald in). |

Sources with APoC have actually gone down in price quite a bit since the last time I looked at them. The only problem is the ones that are pretty cheap are ones that have barely any average damage on them. I paid 25 million for my wand with 963 dps and a socket, just to give you a reference. |

Wow, didn't realize the socket ones were that costly. I think my 1050 dps with elite bonus was closer to 3 mil. |
