Survivability in MP10

Before i spend a crap ton to ugprade my gear, any suggestions on what the minimal level for survivability is in MP10 for a WW barb?

Can someone who comfortably whirlwinds around MP10 share your HP/Armor/All Resistance/ Life Steal / Life on Hit (is this even necessary on MP10) / other forms of damage reductions / other forms of healing?

Disclaimer - i have tried up to MP8 without too much trouble. I've found i need at least 5% LS to deal with Reflects, regardless of the amount of LOH...

Disclaimer 2 - my gear in my profile is my MP1 MF gear, can switch out later.

@eleganthobo

I have found that you need at least 6% life steal on mp10 due to the massive abounts (talking millions) of hp the monters have especially when you run into damage reflect. Anything less than 1k life on hit is just a bad idea on mp10 and do not make the mistake of overlooking life regen. It's an undervalued stat that makes a difference when combined with the other survivability stats.

I try to keep my hp at least 50k on mp10 (obviously more is better) and armor no less than 6200 with all resistance no less than a bare minimum of 600.

One thing I can't stress enough for WW Barbs is the fact that if you are going to take on mp 10 with a group you better be able to do at least 100k dps (buffed) with all the other stats I mentioned.

Being able to survive is great for rezing your group until one of the ubers enrages because your group didn't have the DPS to melt them in time.

PS. most of the time when you check my profile I have my leveling gear on.

From what I've gathered from watching CDXLIV's stream for a long time, once you get past the 75K dps point you can get away with having just 6% life steal. I'm not sure of the truth behind that though since I don't play my barb anymore.

Just tested it out on Core of Arreat, mp10. it's not too bad with my stats. 1450 loh/5.6%ls/700 life regen/5.6k armor/500 AR/44k life/ 109k dps w/ scoundrel. Ran into two champ packs both with Extra Health / Reflect, succubus and then stygians. killing speed was pretty good for both. Stygian also had firechains but was pretty easy but the succubus were a lot tougher. I found i had to dance a bit b/c they also had mortar, which really hurts when i get tthat debuff thing they shoot.

@eleganthobo

your toeing the line with your current build. The biggest factor of your mp10 success as it stands right now is the people you play with. If you play with people with the same gear/level it's going to be tough. I was wondering (besides the obvious 100% drop) why you want to do mp 10? MP7 or MP8 would probably be more rewarding till you start gathering more paragon levels. Trust me when I say "I"need more paragon levels as well.

I'm not discouraging you from trying mp10 ubers, just trying to keep you from banging your head on a wall until you are ready.

@eleganthobo You have great life healing stats, but armor/AR seem kinda low for high MP. I imagine your life must bounce all over the place.

@yoyo Everything I've read agrees that MP7-8 are more efficient than 9-10 even if you have great gear. The HP increase on 9-10 is so massive that it will greatly slow your killing speed. I think even keys are better 7-8, while maybe just the organ run would be better on 9-10. That said, MP10 is a pretty fun challenge.

@sabin

Your making my point, right now @eleganthobo should be handling mp 7-8. There is nothing fun or challenging about mp10 uber fails unless you are masochistic. I'm just saying, work your way up. It's not impossible by any means.

Read my original post - i am trying to upgrade gear. The goal is to comfortably ww my way through mp10.

I was asking you guys what defensive stats I need but then decided, hey, why not just test it out myself? @sabin is correct, I am close but need more AR/armor/ and even hp at this point.

Maybe a better way to put it is, I want to upgrade as little defensive stats as possible to comfortably ww in mp10 so i can focus on DPS (the sexy number).

Anyways, thanks for the help - i think i have a good idea on where to take it from here.

@yoyo yeah, I meant to imply that I agreed with you completely about where he should farm.

Though, I wasn't saying uber fails are fun at all - I'm saying beating them is fun (once in a while) if you're capable of it, despite the lack of efficiency. Beating ZK/SB with only 1 guy alive last night was the most exciting fight I've had outside of HC. On the other hand, not being able to beat SK wasn't nearly as fun.

@eleganthobo I'm not sure how much high VIT or some Life % will cost on a Vile Ward, but this could give you a nice ~300 armor boost, and a bit more STR and AR, and keep the life regen.

That was pretty epic you whittling away the last 10-15 mil or so he had with the rest of us lying in pieces at your toons feet. LOL ;-)

@eleganthobo

Um, yeah, My first response was merely aimed at getting you the #s you needed to compete on mp10 using whatever gear upgrades that you could personally afford.

I'm really not sure you can "comfortably ww through mp10". Maybe I'm just a wuss but there doesn't seem to be anything comfortable in MP10. I agree with @sabin, Vile Ward is an easy upgrade.

@Sabin

MP10 SK/Magda is tough. At least for me anyway and yes you are right, beating up on the other MP10 ubers is alot of fun.

I know.. I wonder if I could have survived a second hit. A potion healed most of my life back, and I probably was close to refreshing diamond skin.

@@eleganthobo: Was just looking at your hero's profile--like the name "Hulk". :) Is there a reason why you have an empty socket in those nice Ice Climber boots...? :)

@eastdragon42 - hey, I don't typically wear the ice climbers, i had them on to check my stats.

The reason I don't socket is simple - I have only one radiant star ruby and one radiant star amethyst. I wear the ruby in my helm when I level, but replace it with an amethyst when i do ubers and switch the ruby to the ice climbers.

Fun note: I used to dye Hulk green with purple pants, but now I can't cuz you can't dye legendaries :(
