I've recently started buying unid legendaries and was curious about how there is a relatively stable price range for each unid legendary. For example, echoing furies are around 15M, mempos are around 40m, etc. (Source: trade channel, d2jsp).

In terms of what influences price, I'd imagine the # of random rolls factors into pricing, as are the market price distribution of each combination of rolled items. E.G. echoing fury, you need to hit four random rolls - high min/max damage, high % damage modifier, one socket + either LS/CC to get the 2B+ finds OR Mempo, where you need 1 random roll to be CC). I'd imagine you'd marry the chance of roll X market price for the distribution of outcomes to get an expected price for unid...

I wonder, how scientific do you think these price ranges are? Which ones are overpriced and which ones are underpriced? How do the prices settle around this range (is it some blackmarket/website that sets it?)? Would be great to see someone smarter than me to come up with some model to see which are worth buying...

Also, interested to see what you guys bought unid, at what price, and at what price did you sell it (i.e. what rolls).

I'll start - I bought a Blackthorne's jousting mail for 1m unid, and it had armor roll + arcane resist, it sold for 666k gold net. I bought a mempo for 35M gold, it had 195 dex + armor, and 11% life, which i sold for 22m.

IMO it realy depends on what you want to do.

If you want to hit "singles", go for something safe and keep working the jousting mails and lower priced items.

if you want to hit the proverbial "home-run" ball, then you gotta go big risk, big reward. The science comes down to the lottery of it all. I'd focus on Echoing Furies as I think they have the best opportunity to sell for 2B. Maybe also look for ammys that also have the potential for BIS.

I personally haven't purchased anything unid and I don't think I will. I'd rather play AH tycoon and guarantee myself a small but consistent profit working the ring circuit. I love the idea of a large payday but I don't think its potential is high enough to take the risk.

I personally found 1 echoing fury and if I remember I was lucky to get a million for it - if it was even that high as the roll was soooo bad.

i wondered this myself... i highly doubt theres any real "science" behind the values... but i think mempo are higher because you only need 1 random stat to be CC, rather than 4 on the EF... so your chances are higher on the mempo

theres a guy i saw ID over 10 mempos and like 20 EFs on twitch and none of them rolled well...

Bought an unid EF for 10m, which i think is a great deal. The stats are dex, OS, and 1030 DPS with +.25 atk speed, which isn't terrible.

I think the other reason i buy unid items is because i never find them - it's quite satisfying and worthwhile to pay for the chance to roll something GG.. those fleeting 4 seconds .. :/

Gave more thought about mempos - there are 18 other attributes it can roll, so at 40m it isn't so bad. Add in the prim stat + vit rolls and some other ones, you have roughly 1/20 chance (very rough) to get crit..

yikes 40m for unid mempo? i understand if you get crit it can pay out quite a lot... but how much could you get for a non crit one? a few mil at most? not sure if its worth it... but i dont think i could sell mine and always think... omg what if that rolls 6cc?!?!

I feel the same way about potentially selling that 1 super awesome item for X millions. If I ever get a mempo to drop, I wouldn't sell it, I'd most definately ID it right away!

I sold a Int one with like 70 vitality for like 8 million. Also sold a strength one with like fire resist for around 4 million.

Also, I think the chance to roll crit is a lot lower than 1/20. I wouldn't be surprised to learn certain stats like crit chance are weighted to roll less often than others.
