one key to bind them all

Being a CM Wiz, i have grown to spamming 3 keys, and at certain time the spamming is so "passionately intense" it hurts my fingers. Then i heard a friend mentioned about being able to program the mouse or keyboard to bind the 3 keys and also lessen the spamming...ie automatically spam by a press of a button,

any idea what is it about? hope you guys can shed a light on it...

atm i am comfortably not dying so much on mp7, but tried on mp10 out of curiosity, and it takes plenty of spamming for a long time.....

Yes there are programs that do that but I think they breach blizz T&C's so use at own risk.

I once used one when I used to play DOTA as the key mappings sucked.

anything that remaps keystrokes will be loaded into memory, which means it will be visible by blizzards watch dog client. I wouldn't.

"Remap all 7 ergonomically placed buttons with predefined skills and commands. Assign macros with easy drag-and-drop functionality to personalize the mouse for your game."

From the Steel Series Diablo 3 licensed mouse.

Blizzard's EULA specifically states: "Use cheats, automation software (bots), hacks, or any other unauthorized third-party software designed to modify the Game experience, including without limitation, mods that violate the terms of this License Agreement or the Terms of Use"

Now any attorney worth his Ferragamo tie can argue that a licensed mouse is not representative of an unauthorized third party software.

Yes, I just found I can do "keyboard macro's" and then assign a key on my mouse to that macro, which can be a string of key strokes or even mouse movements/clicks.

This is all within Logitech mouse software, which is theory almost any mouse can use.

If you have to ask if something is a ban-able offense, it's probably a good idea to just not do it at all...

I always think if you're pushing a button for every action you're okay. If you push 1 button for 2+ actions you've automated something and you broke the rules.

I plan to look into a macro on mouse that changes to 1, 2, 3 with each push. Then you're only spamming one button but not automating anything.

Personally, I've used a Razer keyboard and/or mouse with their macros since day one for both D3 and Starcraft. No ban yet. I think Blizz has built in mitigation against crazy spamming such as casting animation and proc coefficients.

I think I'm going to have to try binding macros for my mouse. I've only successfully achieved perfect permafreeze on a single Elite at 3.34 aps which leaves me with very low Vit thanks to needing to wear Ashera's Lock boots. Going down to 3.01 would help my Vit tremendously.

Which macro presets do you run @Khan? Does it just spam the skills in a row or do you actually have them set to time? Are you holding down one mouse button and spamming a key on the keyboard?

Also, why does everyone seem to use Diamond Skin? I never seem to have trouble keeping my Arcane Power up without the resource reduction from Prism which allows me to have both Slow Time and an Armor on my skills.

@ecocd
Diamond Skin/Diamond Shards gives an extra 210% damage as physical so its quite a noticeable boost when you're in the middle of things.

Regarding key bindings/macros, keys are:

1- Diamond Skind/Diamond Shards
2 - Frost Nova/Bone Chill
3 - Energy Twister/Wicked Wind
4 - Explosive Blast/Chain Reaction

M1 Key on my Razer Black Widow Keyboard set to 4-2-3-3-3 and repeat until I press M1 key again. I hit the 1 key for my Diamond Skin manually whenever it shatters/resets. Thats pretty much it.

Alas, no macros for my pitiful little mouse and old keyboard. AutoHotKey might be going a bit far. I like the idea of setting WW to the scroll wheel, though, to see if I can get those going up quickly.

Overall, though, since I find it this challenging to keep a single elite completely frozen I think I may have to concede that I'm not particularly good at this game.

I'm pretty sure the logitech drivers will work with any mouse, might be worth a shot. I use them to fire off spirit walk+haunt/jaunt with my thumb button :)

I tried to use the Logitech drivers for the g500, but it didn't work. Boo.

I've tried binding WW to the mouse wheel. Spinning the wheel at a moderate pace won't give me a permafreeze. Spinning the wheel very quickly, however, may have done the trick. It may be that I was simply not spamming WW fast enough all along. I've actually done a pretty good job getting my 3.34 gear (with time bubble) good enough to kill at a reasonable speed on MP7 with enough health, CC and AR to survive much more consistently. If I can go down to 3.01, I'll be able to equip a pair of crafted bracers, Ice Climbers and crafted shoulders to increase my dps dramatically while still keeping decent survivability. I'd still hang on to my 3.34 gear for Ubers, though.

I wish Blizzard would let us have an alternate keystroke for main attack, because I have to drop all armors to make the key bindings work to get WW on mouse wheel.
