http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/alyu314-1697/hero/28311834 <- my dh for reference

I was wondering at what base dps a 2-socket manti would add to my dps wise if using 2 80cd gems vs my current 1 80cd gem with 1200some dps. Im not sure how low to go on selecting a new manticore, any ideas?

Not sure if you've checked it out, but there's a thread devoted to which Gems to socket in a dual Manticore. You'll find a lot of related discussion there. In short, it depends heavily upon your CC. The more CC you have, the more you'll get out of another CD gem.

You have an extremely nice single socket Manticore and you'll be hard-pressed to get much of a damage upgrade for a reasonable price by moving up to a dual-socket Manticore.

I would say your first upgrade, by far, is your quiver. They are dirt cheap, relatively speaking. You won't hurt yourself much by giving up 0.5-1% CC and bumping up to a 200+ Dex DML with 19% IAS. You should even be able to get a fair amount of extra crit chance to your Multishot.

Next upgrade is your bracers. They're even cheaper than DML now and you'll find an upgrade on the AH in no time. You could also craft an upgrade without any trouble.

And it's not going to cost you a thing to de-socket your Radiant Star Emerald from your Monk's weapon and put it into your single-socket Manticore. ;-)

@alyu314: The thread regarding gems in dual-socketed manticores can be found here. I created it, & got some very good responses from the D3RMT.com community; definitely advise you to check it out! ;-)

btw, what's your budget for a 2-socket manticore anyways? Cause I think I have 3 or 4 in my stash at the moment that I haven't had a chance to sell yet (since I've been plagued with the AH Error 0 bug for a week now)...

@eastdragon42
unfortunately, my budget atm is 2mil...Im trying to figure out what I should go for once I hit my next big sell. And im just trying to figure out at what base dps will a duel sox with 2 gems will match my current one, not trying to max out with ruby vs emerald right now (since I dont even have a rad.ruby to spare anyways.)
@ecocd
I get that I should up my quiver, but the bracers are for movespeed and AR - since I need 24ms for strife build (also reason to not get better ias, since strife does worse with any higher ias).

@alyu314:

Try using the DPS calculator here.

I uploaded your DH's profile into there & threw in my current double-socketed manticore for comparison (but with two 80% CD emeralds as opposed to what I've currently got socketed in there)...& the damage went up by about 4176.99. Which might not seem like much, but keep in mind my manticore has 0 dex on it (yours has +193 dex); I'm sure you could get one on the AH with at least some dex on it....

@eastdragon42

that info helps. what is the base dps without the ruby for your manti? if it gained 4k dps without the 190 dex, Im sure a similar one with dex will be much more.

@alyu314:

Apologies for the late reply. My manticore:

776-1230 damage
1.22 attacks per second
+233-602 poison damage

Hope that helps! :)

btw, another good site to use is d3up.com...

@alyu314:

TBH, I really don't know if the ruby affects the text in the base reading, but it I had to guess, I would assume it does not.

As the cost of removing the gem is probably over 10,000 gold, I don't plan on unsocketing it again until I have a Radiant Star Emerald to replace the current perfect star one; so it's probably easier for you to find out on your own by simply socketing a chipped ruby into any random socketed weapon that you don' t necessarily want & see if it changes the base stats or not...?

Few days ago I had 1 socket Manticore almost same as yours. I bought 1200 dps 2 socket Manticore without Dex, and got almost +40k DPS with green and red gems. My manticore costs 65mil.
