Genzaniku

Me being a flipper in Genzanikus. I think I have traded over 10 pieces, some of them net me in millions including one with 8.5m hardcore golds. I also know where these drop.............but I never really farm it since I got bored after 3 or 4 runs and guess I better spend my valuable game time on other things. Since you ask, I am going to reveal the secret..................you may help me test it out and the influx of farming in this area hopefully can bring the prices of these down. Area: Act 2. Normal Difficulty. Start with the quest to kill Magdah. The check point will land just outside Magdah's Lair for repeating the run. Route: Upper Arcanus -> Lower Arcnus -> Road to Arcanus Why: 95% of the monsters are level 17 and level 18. These monsters drop Genzaniku, alongside with Leoric Signets and various other worthy low level legendaries if you got the nice rolls. This should be the most efficient run since you nicely group nearly all monsters of lvl17-18 in that tight area, hence save you time c.f. say other areas with only 50% (just making it up) of monsters in that level range. Good luck! |

I was thinking of doing the classic Leoric Signet run, but takes around 10 mins to finish a run, running normal that long for a run is depressing, so might give this one a Rush.

Please keep us posted on the results.
I was thinking of starting a geeky project documenting number of runs/ MF/ number of legs/ Genzaniku type of things, but too many other things to do. Oh, remember to choose MP10 and max up 300 MF cap if you haven't had it maxed. |

in aproximately 10 runs I got 1 legendary Crudest Boots, sold for a nice 300k
[edit] 30 more runs, 10 rare items but no legendary, as far as I see it the route is not worth it |

tl;dr Genazikus can also drop in the Black Canyon Mines as most creatures there are high enough mlvl.
Genzeniku is a Heavy Axe which is ilvl 16 and only monsters mlvl 16 and higher can drop it. There's also a minimum ilvl each monster can drop, though I don't know what the floor is. Unlike Diablo 2, it looks like every monster's drop table is the same (with special case exceptions for Bosses). The probability of dropping an Item, Gold Pile, Gem, Health Globe or nothing is different across monsters, but amongst the gear, they'll drop all equipment at the same rate as any other monster. I'm not certain if the RNG first chooses ilvl or item category, regardless, you want to give the RNG the smallest possible pool of items to choose from. In the case of Genaziku, the sweet spot is lvl 16-19, because Battle Axes are ilvl 20 and would start dropping with mlvl 20 monsters. Unlike the Leoric's Signet, Genazikus can drop in the Black Canyon Mines as most, if not all, creatures there are mlvl 16-19. Your probability of finding one is remote, regardless of your run, but you can include Black Canyon Mines in your run for Genzanikus. These runs also pull up your Elite kills on your profile ;-) |

I did include BCM in about half my runs, and nothing

Since I have a habbit of testing game lag by playing softcore for a few minutes before I switch over to hardcore, the above route is now my routine - one run per day before playing hardcore. in this fashion, I might actually find one Genzaniku in one year, and hopefully it rolls a socket.

For reference, it took over 30 runs at MP10, full MF, full clears of: Vault of Assassins, Road to Alcarnus, Oasis to find a Leoric's Signet. You're in for a long wait. Also, 20% Signets are down around 8 million and even the 30% XP Signets aren't selling at 32 million so don't expect a big payoff for your work these days. |

I just decided to ditch it way too much work, the only reason I was doing this was because I need money.
