Anyone have suggestions for a VQ build? I feel like it could be awesome, but could also suck dick.

Help me out.

There's a lot of VQ builds, all of which hinge on the two following choices:

- What will your main DPS spell that needs VQ be?
- 4 or 5 cooldown abilities?

For question 1, the picks include but are not restricted to:
- Zombie charger / Zombie Bears
- Firebats / Dire Bats
- Plague of Toads / Rain of Toads
- Acid Cloud / ???

For question 2, the main argument for 5 cooldowns is that it gives you an "oh shit" button, whereas having 4 spells means all your possible "oh shit" buttons are already on cooldown, that and if you're relying on VQ, you only need one damage spell really, so why not go 5 cooldowns.

If you truly want to do a VQ build, you HAVE to invest in some mana per second gear. Why? Because a dagger witb 10 mana per sec becomes 40 mana per sec with VQ triggered.

To go back to the spells we discussed for question 1, here are the pros & cons that I know of for each:

- Zombie Bears: The spell that hits the hardest, by far, of all four. Ranged is somewhat limited and doesn't work well in all areas (it tends to clip into the terrain & doodads)
- Firebats / Dire Bats: The best range since you shoot in a straight line from pretty much a full screen away.
- Plague of Toads / Rain of Toads: This one is considerably cheaper than the others, is a small AoE and procs life on hit A LOT. It mostly used in "Tank Doctor" builds where you go for armor, go into melee and stay alive through life on hit.
- Acid Cloud: Covers an area, possibly a very big area with the right rune and you can find some gear which gives crit for it.

Thank you!

My Witch Doc is level 40 right now, so ZBs aren't an option. I tried to run it with plague bats to no avail.

I'm unsure as to what cooldown spells i should be using, when I try to use a VQ build, things get really hectic and I often just cast spells to keep the cooldowns on.

Ya since the update I've found you can keep up the 30% mana regen easily, however it's not enough regen for me to spit out the bears we all know and love. I use spirit walk after PoT so the regen synergizes and fills my mana back to max. I can tank with LoH+Toads then instantly swith to dps bears when my mana is up.

I'd also recommend Spirit Vessel together so the SW cooldown is faster.

I've played WD since launch and haven't been able to get away from VQ til last patch... now I'm sad about JF going bye bye.

I have personally found that I get a better mana regen from 'Spiritual Attunement'
