Here I want to keep up do date with what people have made external to Diablo 3 for tracking items on the RMAH. Come one come all and share what you have made and found online.
P.S. Blizzard if you find we made it externally to the game that means we would rather it was in Game. Give us Tools and we will use the AH more than before. |

I am excited about this game but I have played better economies before. I like economy tools that are inherent to each item that is available in the game. Eve online has done an excellent job of making the economy clear for each item you sell. It includes things like average price across all previous sales and allows the players to set a percentage higher, lower, or equal to that average at which they sell the item as well as all items after that one.

I think that there is no reason why we cannot be given a better average price point off of which to work when we are selling our Diablo gear. As it stands the price point suggested when you go to sell an item is vastly under priced on the GAH and over priced on the RMAH. It would take the Devs a while but all they need to do is rank stats for each item type and then isolate statistically the way each stat affects the final sale price on average. This is impossible for users to do on our end as the stats of even our own sales are not view-able much less the sales of the aggregate community. It is possible for us to start posting each item, with it's stats, that we sell and at what price in some major community project. If this is done then off of that sample it would be possible to publish specific findings from the D3 Community Pricing Project and hope that the sample is representative of the entire Diablo 3 economy. This is possible with enough posted items..

One thing that i noted on your Gem Cost sheet in regards to the profit numbers, it does not take into account the the cut Blizzard takes on commodities. I think it works out to 15% for auction. So in the case of an Amethyst Radiant Star, it costs 16,768,684 to make and sales for 14,850,171(according to d3rmt today), but the gold you receive is for 12,622,645. So you would have to sell the Radiant Star for over 19730000 to make any profit on the auction house.
At this time, the only way to be profitable with gems is to sell directly to players or craft them for a fee. I do not see gem prices getting higher unless the gem surplus is used up. Just my 2 cents. |

I hope you know that that automatic price that is pasted in the sell box is the merchant pay price (for both the AHs) |

Exactly my point. How is it useful to have this mundane kind of information. We always know that the merchant price is less. That is why we are on the AH in the first place. We wand more buck for our respective BANG. I think that the price point should be reactive to real time sales trends both over time and more currently. It would take Blizzard some work on their end to make it so that we knew every time we sold something that we were asking proper prices for the gear we sell, but that work would pay off. If they took the stats off each piece of gear and came back with a number that we could increase by a percentage, lower by a percentage, or leave alone we would sell more. Blizzard would then make more and we would be more confident as both buyers and sellers. I do not think that we need to wait for this any longer. |

The sheet in question has been updated since the last posting to show "Post Blizzard's Cut" profit. This means that the sheet tool is only rarely going to indicate a situation where people can craft and make money on the sale of a Gems. People can always use the sheet tool as a way to know if they should be building Gems for themselves. Rock on. |

I like the Item Price calculator, but I wish there was a way to calculate how much it would cost to buy materials and craft/sell gems of different sizes! I'm a big fan of jewelcrafting!
