Since our skills as a DH tell us to stack Crit and crit chance I feel like it some what of a problem. What do you guys think is a good balnce between crit damage % and dexterity

What I would really like to see is some sort of a conversion table - x-points of dex = x-crit chance = x-crit damage

Anyone know where to find something like this?

What skills in particular "tells" you to stack crit damage and crit chance? I've been at a comfortable 31% crit chance and I take the incidental crit damage where I can. (At 233% currently, including Archery 50% buff.)

What I do prioritize is all resist and vitality.

Knowing the damage calculation, you will find that crit dmg % affect more on the value. However, consider your crit chance is high or not, your dex affect your basic damage.

I choose to buff my dex up as my crit chance is not high enough.

@reallyhotpepper I've started looking into this in much more detail and it depends heavily upon your attack speed and hence, the bow you choose to use.

If you use a 2H Xbow, you'll want to focus on Dexterity and much less on critical hit damage and attack speed. Don't neglect Critical Hit chance entirely, but due to the distribution of damage you do over time, relatively slow 2H XBows are going to benefit from Dexterity. Moreso than any other class of weapons, the dps displayed in game for slow 2-handed weapons is misleading compared to actual damage output. Keep in mind that most of your skills, including Vault, use your attack speed so don't neglect it entirely.

If you use 1H XBows with either quiver or dual-wield (not shield), then you want to focus on attack speed and critical hit damage, albeit with a decent level of critical hit chance (at least 30% including Archery). Dexterity isn't nearly as important. You can check my profile for an example. The rate of fire is so high that the rate of critical hits smooths out the damage curve and the dps figure displayed in-game is a pretty representative of your true damage output.

2H Bows split the two and you'll do the most damage by striking a balance between all stats that affect your damage. don't put all your eggs in any given basket.

@Korlomovic There's no single damage table, because there are too many interacting factors between Dex, crit chance, crit damage, attack speed and +damage. You'll either have to find a reliable damage calculator or use trial and error.

Obviously, if you have hundreds of millions you want to stack them both. However, most people don't. I would recommend going for dexterity until you can afford 30%+ crit chance with 150% crit damage minimum. You might have 500% crit damage, but if you don't have any crit chance then it really isn't going to do much. Then Sharpshooter is just a crutch and you'll only hit high every now and then.
