I wish I can undercut all the trashy legendaries I have... even for 200k each...

The simple fact is that if your stuff doesn't sell, then you're overcharging. If you've actually got it priced appropriately, it shouldn't matter if a few people undercut you; somebody will buy your gear because it's a good deal for them. If the supply is high enough that *everybody* undercuts you, that's the definition of overcharging.

I've had the most success selling things around the lvl 40's and reduced price items. It is a rather undersaturated market because everyone wants the godlies , but max out your gf and run nightmare, grab the rares and i've got roughly 35% successful auction rate prices 10-50k per item, 50k seems to be the hard cap for leveling gear.

I don't run nightmare, but I do save a lot of items with Reduced Level Requirements. I actually sold a pretty average weapon for 2 million because it had a level requirement reduced by 12. It normally wouldn't have sold for anywhere near as much at level 60, but I guess someone wanted to pimp out their alt.

Having much more luck with undercut buyouts
compared to letting items run, where I don't seem to get bids at all even though it's way below lowest buyout

Undercutting is the fastest way to be profitable on the AH.

I agree with jtank2, the 10 auction limit is a big factor in the undercutting. Prices would move more slowly if everyone had unlimited auction slots.

What kind of items are we talking here? I mean, 100k-1m items, less than 100k, 10m+ items?

I guess it's like other people have said, the 10 slot limit is really getting to people's heads, even though you can cancel auctions, no one wants to wait.

This is how economies always shake out over time in online games. It's a race to the bottom for poor/mediocre items. At the same time, prices go up and up for more desirable items, as people have more cash on hand and will pay anything for that endgame item that makes their build.

This is exactly it. And, it goes hand in hand with not trying to list complete junk. Know what sells and price appropriately and you'll make good money.

Right! Highest end, endgame items will always be worth a ton. But then, as more high quality items enter the economy, even really good items will have a lower cost for the same value.

Kinda wonder what economic impact there will be from 1.0.5. If Infernal Machine parts can be bought & sold, or ubers drop special things, it could have a negative impact...

The limit of 10 slots is what really causes the undercutting. If your first set of items don't sell then the next set can't be put up for sale either.

Too many slots will lead to the market being flooded with mediocre items,

I farm fast enough to have a constant flow of sellable items, so I need to undercut a lot to sell all my items

I don't undercut too badly, but still having trouble selling items. I suppose that the 6 stat specifics of my items aren't exactly what people want.
