The notes have been updated today to also say: Energy Twister -Skill Rune - Storm Chaser --Proc coefficient reduced from 0.5 to 0.125 Perhaps builds with ET will still be viable considering the changes to CC resistance. We'll have to wait until we can actually try it out. This does mean that WW will probably be as good as SC again, depending on the environment and type of mobs you're fighting. With the AP cost and delay for meteor to drop both being reduced, we might be better off going back to the old meteor CM builds. |

@sabin @euggie Sorry guys. I'm switching t archon until I figure out the new dynamics of storm armor. However, it does seem that CC/WW/EB permastun or other iterations of it is dead. There's no reason to use energy twisters in any build now as the proc coefficients are too minimal for effective use.

i haven't done much research on archon build... but i see that you're still using CM.. how does that work? it allows you to keep spamming archon? |

@euggie Most Archon builds are designed to try and be in Archon form as often as possible. You extend the duration by 1 sec for each enemy killed, but if you can't keep it up, you want CM to lower the long CD. Depending on where you need the most improvement, you can use force weapon/sparkflint for more dps while in Archon, or you can use standard CM skills to try and permafreeze mobs while you wait for Archon to be available again.

@sabin Arcane Dynamo appears to work on the initial hit. Once you let go of that button, you're reduced back to the paltry 300% damage. But that first volley is quite crazy and everything pretty much melts even more so. I'm taking it out and just using a stone of jordan with a +29% damage to elites. Get them now while they're still inexpensive!

I haven't but forums have stated that you should switch to meteor if you can afford it (source and other items with decrease in meteor costs). Additionally, forums state that WW is somewhat effective at attack speeds over 2.1 if you can manage that.

I have become more encouraged after reading through this thread. Also, I have personally switched things to use Prism for DS rune and have Star Pact and Mistral Breeze as my attacks. My APOC is 16. Runs currently in 104 have been pretty positive with my normal coop partners. I don't think the build is 100% dead yet. |

I've tried it with pretty sub-par items from before upgrading a bit and while it isn't as effective as it used to be, it isn't horrible. I want to try it with the gear I have now though. |

thanks for trying... i just tried switching from slowtime time warp to stretch time for the added IAS and then shocking aspect, but i kept dying fairly quickly... i decided to go back to prismatic and it seemed to work well after that... im hoping that the change to prismatic doesn't kill me in 105 |

This meteor shower build looks really fun (link to 4:00 in the description for elite fight): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLEPWAMDYh8&feature=plcp# He's got pretty good stats, so I'm not sure how viable it is for low-mid level stats. Maybe pinpoint barrier would work if you needed the extra crit. If AP is an issue, maybe Astral Presence, or using the Prism diamond skin could work. If you need a bigger AP pool to get things started, energy tap technically gives you 40 max AP compared to other EA runes. @Khan I'm not sure if you've tried this build out, but it looks like it can do similar DPS to the old WW or SC builds, but with way better AoE, provided you can handle the increased AP cost. At the speed the meteors can be cast it looks like it might do way more DPS, but I can't quite tell how many of the 7 meteors can hit each mob. |

Oh my, that looks freakin sweet. I have pretty similar stats to him right now, other than his attack speed and crit chance (which is nuts) so I'll definitely try it out when I get the chance. |

@sabin I was thinking of doing the meteor build. All I need is a new source but I'm kind of getting tired of gearing and regearing based on patches. It seems that archon and kite builds are the only ones not getting nerfs. Meh, maybe I'll dish out the 100 to 200 mil for a new source that can make it go boom boom.

@euggie To be fair, no wiz build could really come close to the usefulness of a CM WW/SC build for the same price of gear. I don't have a problem with WW/SC being nerfed, but I think they lowered them a bit too much. I guess whatever build we choose next, we need to make sure it has hydra so they won't decide to nerf it ;)
@Khan Why not just spend like 1 mil on a source with just crit and APoC for testing? Your other gear is pretty good already so you'd just need to see if you like the mechanics of the build without worrying about the DPS/survival. You'd could sell it soon after so you wouldn't even be losing much on the rental. Unless you were talking about the PTR, then nevermind. |

@sabin I actually found an old Tal source among my mule characters that has everything and -5 meteor cost. I've tried meteor build before and the spinup too it was just too long. I guess with the casting reduction it appears more viable. Now only if I could log onto that damn PTR...

Oh and farming is actually much quicker with a 150k archon than any build I've seen. You just can't pick everything up like a normal run. Its basically just for XP and finding legendaries. When I farm with archon, I don't pick up any rares or gold and can clear levels very quickly. I'll post a video soon.

@Khan So, about that Archon build... do you think it works well against bosses/ubers, or is it tough when you don't many skills to avoid damage or trash to last longer than 15 seconds?
@euggie You certainly predicted it. I saw a few posts on reddit saying that their CM builds were still working fine on elites, but their stats were pretty good. If rings and amulets can roll lvl 63 stats then it won't be quite as hard to gear for, since we'll potential for much higher crit% and IAS (I don't think they confirmed if this will be live or just a PTR bug). Someone said that meteor CM WZs were permastunning ubers, so I can understand a nerf. Assuming they were right, I agree there's a problem if you can spend 1-5 mil on gear and trivialize even the MP10 ubers. |

@sabin It works well against bosses if you can keep it up. With a +300% damage in archon, you can add a stone of jordan for an additional 20% to 30% against elites and should burn most bosses under MP7. I don't see archon viable past MP7 due to the high HP of monsters. That being said, if you can dance and crit until your archon has finished its cooldown, then you'll be able to resume the death barrage.
That being said, the more base damage you deal, the faster things die and the longer archon will stay up. On A3 with 24% movement speed and unbuffed 105k dps with my XP gear (damn that Leoric's signet), I can have archon up 80% of the time in the keeps and arreat crater levels and close to 100% in the fields of slaughter. However, these are solo games. Archon is a solo endeavor as you need to kill things to stay in archon mode. |

@khan what are you looking for(gear wise) when trying to build an archon build? obviously not everyone can have the same gear you have (so jelly) and it seems you don't have any AonC, so is it just int? get high dps, ias? i think your movement speed is very high, im assuming so you can move around to more mobs quicker... anything else?
