This question looks silly. But I do have a problem telling which weapon is my mainhand weapon.

The reason why I have this question:

When I equip
1) The Fist of Az'Turrasq (a fist 1224 DPS) to the left of my character screen = right hand?
2) The Sun Eater (a mace 9++ DPS)

In the game, visually my monk's right hand weild the mace, so does it mean mace is my mainhand?.
I want my mainhand to weild the higher DPS weapon.

I was told fist is default to offhand. Is this right? What if I replace the 2) Sun Eater with 2) Won Kim Lau which is also a fist? I just equipped Won Kim Lau on the right of my screen. And weapon comparison, without pressing alt-key, is comparing the Won Kim Lau.

All the abovce just make me confused and I wonder if I miss or do anything silly wrong.

your main hand is your left hand ( compare to you) the one that you can't equip shield

It looks like this:

Main hand | char | left hand ( or shield)

For monk, it doesn't matter which one you equip, doesn't matter what weapon, too. The faster weapon the faster you attack which mean more spirit generation. That's all matter.

So far the only class that have to care about MH and OH is WW barbarian because their skill based on weapon dmg on MH

Well if im not mistaken sweeping wind cyclone is based off Main-Hand damage, you just want to put your higher damage weapon in your main-hand most of the time

It just confused me when I thought I put the mace (edit: should be Sun Keeper instead of Sun Eater lol) in my offhand (where shield can be equiped), but I see my toon running around with the mace in his right hand.

Anyway decided to use 2 fists now. Putting Sun Keeper on auction.

Well if im not mistaken sweeping wind cyclone is based off Main-Hand damage, you just want to put your higher damage weapon in your main-hand most of the time

Sweeping wind take your initial dmg to be extract so if your initial dmg on MH then it will use MH dmg and vice versa

No, we can't. They are alternative .
It's like

Left, right, left, right,....


The initial dmg is the dmg that you will deal for next hit. For example:

your dps : 100k + 15% boh + 30% binding flash = 145k => your next hit will hit mob at around 145k . If you cast sweeping wind at this moment , Sw will take 15% ( 45% with 3 stacks) of 145k and continue doing that dmg until they wear off ( If you manage to keep them refresh for like 1 minutes, it will do 45% of 145k for 1 minutes...) It doesn't care if your binding flash wear of or your boh wear of ,...
