I recently began converting my DH's gear over from MF/GF to DPS/survival. After some thought I decided to buy myself a legacy Nat's set for the discipline regen as I know many others have done.
This got me to thinking - while the economy will fluctuate based on patches, drop rates, and number of players and the ever growing pool of items/gold, without major changes and backtracking on Blizzard's part, there will never be another piece for this Nat's set (or any other legacy set) drop. That makes these items unique in that every time a player quits with a piece sitting on a character or in their stash (or god forbid scraps for a brimstone) The pool of available gear goes down permanently. Could this make these items a good long term investment or at least a hedge against inflation? Are there other legacy sets or legendaries that have properties that could make them remain desirable/valuable well into the future even as other changes and new items are introduced? Has anyone considered (or have you already) stashing a few completed legacy sets to bust out and sell later when/if changes to skills make them more useful/valuable? |

Good thinking. Worth a look if there are any worthy legacy. Nat set is one, although blizzard tried to nerf its usefulness via nerfing skills. Risk is the introduction of a much better set which is able to replace the old properties. I had in stash a Nat cloak with 11% grenade damage, and a IK glove with close to 5% stun, and a vile ward with 24% GF. No idea on their values though.

I think Nat's Set is an exception to most rules, though, because I don't see Blizzard releasing any sort of Discipline Regen gear for a long time. Never say never, but it's pretty overpowered for the flavor of Discipline. Blizzard doesn't want it used as a spammable resource. That said, a great portion of the current value of the legacy Nat's set comes from the Trail of Cinders exploit that will be patched in 1.0.5. After the patch drops, what's the point of having higher Discipline regeneration? You can pop a Gloom a little more often? Infinite Strafe when combined with Preparation? Not compelling.
Nat's legacy set will always be collectible, because there's a pretty good chance Discipline Regeneration won't see the light of day again. It will never become crazy expensive, though, because Discipline Regeneration isn't likely to ever be particularly important. |

That being said, if anyone ever wants to donate a Natalya's Mark [Legacy] ring, I would be more than happy to take it off of their hands..!! :) I have a 4-pc set, but it's w/ the crossbow, & that DPS is way too low for me... :( But I *love* the super fast discipline regeneration. So much better than the +20 max discipline from the new Natalya's 4-pc set, IMHO...

I believe that the Tal-Rasha legacy boots are some of the best DPS gear, since it has 8% attack speed.
Think it's Tal-Rasha, might be Zunimassa. I know it's one of the int ones. |

Zunimassa's has the attack speed. I actually liked myself one of the most expensive legacy boots and I only got a few thousand DPS boost from it. Thought I'd get more.
