So, there are several threads across the forums asking for gear/upgrading help and advice. I thought it'd be nice to have sort of a "gear check me" thread. More to the point, I've been using D3RAWR for several weeks now and am extremely happy with it. You just import your character straight from battle.net. Afterwards, there are many different calculators for you to play with. My favorite is the "detailed DPS & EHP" tab. Here, you can view the relative effectiveness of each piece of gear you're wearing and also the effectiveness of every stat point. This makes all of the comparisons easy! Hope y'all find this useful. Happy Gaming! |

Thanks for the link @Phamalot This will certainly help me try to figure out how much of an upgrade an item is before buying from the auction house. Currently not my strong point, and using the ah is something I am starting to do more of finally. |

I think battle.net checks 2-3 times daily for updates. You will have to log out and then in again, but it may take several hours (boo) to upload the most up to date version of your toon. Anyone know exact details on Battle.net updates? |

@phamalot, thanks for the nice site the site has an interesting breakdown I'd like to share Stat DPS gain +1 Primary Attribute 27.23 +1% Critical Hit Chance 637.03 +1% Critical Hit Damage 130 +1% Attack Speed 517.7 +1% Elemental Damage 258.29 +1 Min/Max Damage 34.84 It listed these stats to me, and it was very helpful! |

It works for everything except the "Adds x% to Element damage". Damage is slightly off. You know, my own algorithm to calculate the DPS bonus from something like Inna's Favor is off too. I don't really understand how it's calculated (it's pretty complicated since DPS average is calculated by taking the overall DPS derived from alternating each weapon, then on top of that, the physical part of the weapon is only going to represent a percentage of its actual damage, which is the only part that receives the bonus damage). If anyone can get the exact formula, I guess I could offer a small reward (500k or 1M gold). |

Based on your Monks profile (8% Elemental Damage): BNEt: 176001 dps d3rawr: 176001.44 dps http://www.d3rawr.com/e-12dVHC2v Is it because of the 0.44 dmg more, it's just rounded on your BNet profile. |

@sssdrawr There's an error in your input for my profile. I have 3 +dmg items. Ring: +28-56 Ring: +35-66 Amulet: +26-52 Total: +89-174 You have 98 for my minimum damage. I get 175097, which is still pretty close, but not the same. |

I'm a bigger fan of the site D3up.com. A bit easiet to use and more pleasing to the eyes. |

Metta are you using profile import ? There is a hidden +9 minimum damage bonus on "Target Course". You can't see this on the tooltip but its there. |

I don't think so, but I don't understand why there would be a hidden damage bonus. If this is true, then it's pretty disconcerting not just because I've calculated my own DPS incorrectly, but also because certain gear just has random "hidden" bonuses? For anyone else following our discussion, it's only 9 damage on the amulet, but that makes a difference of 1000 DPS overall that I can't even see. |

Yep but if you are looking for upgrades, you should really compare the skill damage not character sheet damage because skill damage includes all the buffs like Won Khim Lau's bonus to lightning skills, the Tal Rasha's Set that increases the damage of fire|lightning|cold skills and damage or crit hit bonuses to specific skills for example. Examples: Here is a wizard: http://www.d3rawr.com/d-gWG8h0t3#set-1-skills And here a barb: http://www.d3rawr.com/d-35to60W3#set-1-skills |
