I have a lvl 60 monk and dh.
I mostly play solo because I simply don't trust public for HC.

I have some questions.
Firstly, I'm mostly playing my DH, but do you think the monk has a better chance to survive solo?

And secondly.
What do you recon is required in terms of DPS en EHP to make it through inferno?

I'd say the Monk has much higher chances of survival. You have more defensive abilities/passives, a base 30% reduction, and near death experience. Especially if you're worried about lag/rubberbanding, the monk will survive a lot longer if you're stuck in place.

That said, I found the DH the most fun/exciting to play. I lost 2 DH's and no other classes, but dieing was expected so it wasn't a big deal even though it was due to lag.

One thing I'd add is that if you play as a monk, it's a bit harder to AH items with your specific resist simply because the AH doesn't have as much gear available compared to SC. It's still possible to find gear, there's just not nearly as much of a selection. I assume the EU AH will have a similar issue.
