Anyone knows how to do this?
I would be interested because of my personal experience on US servers played from europe. Although I've lowered my framerate it seems I get 1000 ms ping and other annoying effects based on this high latency. But also on EU servers I do have these effects sometimes :( |
Ping the bnet game servers

Not that I'm aware off. I think they block the port required for a ping response to return.
But the ingame latency value given is a good average of your ping. I do find that its not always accurate, but a good enough indication. In short for me. 0-250ms never happens... sounds unreal. 250-400ms normal play 400ms - 600ms playable but not fun Bigger than 600ms don't bother. |

Yeah ICMP Ping Requests are blocked, return no value when pinging the BNET ip's so i don't think there really is a way, unless someone else can fill me in? I've tried myself as i deal heavily with latency issues

If you have the name or Ip address of the server ,then you can test the ping by using the command "ping" in command prompt. To open command prompt Start->run->type "cmd" and press Enter.
In the command prompt window type ping ipaddress (or)ping servername . for eg: ping 193.211.145.197 (or) ping abc.com If you have trouble using command interface, then you can do ping test easily from websites sites like WhoisXY.com. |
