The Million(s) Dollar 60 Legendary Armors

I have poor knowledge about the value of legendaries.

When I first looted an Ageless Might I was very happy and thought I struck a lottery, then only found myself banging my head on a brimstone. There are occassions which I thought a legendary is brimstone, but they gave me a couple of millions instead. Last night I looted a Stormshield. I thought it is another brimstone, but I did whisper a barb and ask what he think. He said, got crit chance, so maybe good, but nowadays not many players play shields? I search the AH. Then I put it up for sales, with the 'best bang of your bucks' buyout price. And it was sold for 7 millions.

So, dear all,
- Is there certain legendaries which are confirmed to be junk (brimstones/ below 1m), or certain legendaries which are confirmed to worth millions even with the worst roll?
- What stat would make or break the million mark for a legendary? e.g. Stormshield should have crit chance? e.g. Triumvirates in a recent other post?

I appreciate any comments, (even one comment on one legendary per person is good enough!) or you might want to share a narration/picture of the million dollar legendaries for reference. And no, I won't try to run exe file while partying with you.

I extracted the following from the forum, I realise that I haven't looted all of them! {edit: haven't looted Ice Climber, but looted Mempo}{edit2: I skip the sets/ rings/ amulets/ weapons for now, getting lazy to type them all - didn't realise there are so many hence maybe work on this list first}

Right off the top of my head: Dawn from 600 to 800 DPS is almost always a brim.

The only item that comes to mind that is still worth 10M+ even with the worst roll is The Witching Hour because it is GUARANTEED to roll 8%+ attack speed and 30%+ CD as well as a primary. I believe the Immortal King's Chest is also worth a lot even with a bad roll because it automatically rolls strength, vitality, 3 sockets, and AR while also contributing to the set bonus.

There are a few items worth near 1-2M at the very least, but they could be worth A LOT more with the right stats. A few that come to mind: Natalya's Reflection, Natalya's Bloody Footprints, Inna's Temperance, Inna's Vast Expanse, Immortal King's Stride, Zunimassa's Trail. They're usually worth at least a few million because they're still a pretty rare drop as well as having desirable guaranteed properties like IAS or set bonuses.

The majority of legendaries are going to be worth somewhere between brimstone and billions depending on the roll. Tal Rasha's Allegiance only guarantees CD. Without CC, it's worth maybe 1M gold. I hit 8.5% CC for one roll and it sold for $125 USD. Zunimassa's Trail only guarantees intel and vitality. I hit 75+% AR for one roll and it sold for $75 USD. These are probably my two best sales and I have had innumerable numbers of set/legendaries that rolled health globes or return damage.

Finally, there's the garbage bin. I need to hit the bag or the gym after these drop because after 20-30 minutes (I average maybe 1 legendary per run) of mindlessly running around and waiting for that drop, I feel like punching the screen. Some of these absolutely EPIC fails are:

Ivory Tower (used to drop these in random pub games un-ID'ed, but I guess it's at least a brimstone)
Frostburn Gauntlets (wtf were they thinking!!!)
Gladiator Gauntlets (capped CC, and automatic crap rolls on LOH, %life, and armor. For gloves. *facepalm*)
Nailbiter (this one is probably more rare, but the feeling of seeing a legendary MACE drop and it turns out to be this POS. WoW.)
Fury of the Vanished Peak
Promise of Glory (cap CC at 3.5% = trolling?)
The Gidbinn
Hierophant's Seal
Empyrean Messenger

Now this is interesting.

My top fail legendary drops in order of amount of drops are:
Dawn
Storm Crow
Chantodo's Will

Obviously, I'm using my Wiz to farm and @metta is using his monk (assumption).

Monks, are you seeing similar trash drops as metta?
Wizards, are you seeing similar trash drops as me?

Just want to see if there is a pattern based on class utilized for farming.

For Triumvirates, to make them worth more than a million they have to have like 230 average damage or so and have two sixes of elemental damage. if it double rolls intelligence, has a socket, or rolls vit that's what makes those worth a bunch more.

As for trash items, Gavel of Judgments, Severs, and Frostburns are most likely the top three legendaries I've found.

I was going to say low DPS Dawns and pretty much all Ivory Tower shields, but @Khan and @Metta beat me to it...! :-)

To expand on Khan's thread a bit, I would probably dare to say that all one-handed crossbows (Danetta's Spite or Revenge, Calamity, Dawn, Hallowed, etc.) below 800 DPS are probably not worth much. Unsure if they're necessarily down to brimstone price levels per se, but they are definitely worth less than 500,000 gold no matter what their stats are, even if socketed & with 100% crit damage. Based on my own experiences hunting for many such crossbows, I would even say that you can get a really nice one-handed crosswbow in the 800~1000 DPS range with good stats but without a socket for under a million gold.

That being said, I'm looking forward to seeing comments on this thread, as I'm quite horrible at pricing legendary items myself. I've only sold a single legendary item for just slightly over a million gold (less than a million after Blizzard's 15% cut) since I began playing, & it was some Witch Doctor's set item that I knew very little about...

Thanks. I like the top fail list. It saves me 3 seconds per ID. Btw I have a Warmonger unID. Should I right click or no?!

My top garbage looted as a monk:
Ageless Might
Lacuni Prowlers (in one occasion 2 in a row at the Core...guess I have not hit top rolls on these yet... What's consider million dollar roll on these?)

@douvinsky

Lacuni Prowlers with CC are still worth a lot. 6% CC with good stat rolls would be worth near a billion, I think.

I have hit a few legendaries multiple times. Not sure if there is some sort of class relationship or just RNG BS, but:

4 Gidbinns
3 Sky Splitters
3 Burning Axe of Sankis
4 Gladiator Gauntlets
3 Hierophant's Seals

2 Tons of brimstone legendaries

Interestingly enough, I haven't seen any of these in awhile, although I am playing a lot less. PL 64, so I have seen probably, at least 100 legendaries/set items since they buffed the drop rate. I'd say 5-10 of them were worth a lot (probably 90% of all the money I've made in d3), 10-15 were worth between 5-20M, and the rest were forgettable.

I haven't gotten a legendary that I rolled and thought it was good enough for the auction house. Since now I browse the AH a lot, there are just items that are instant brimstones and they are also the more common drops that you get for that type of item.

When you get a belt it is usually a mighty belt not a witching hour... :P

When legendary gloves drop it is usually brimstone before it hits the ground.

This made me sell quite a few of my legendaries UNIDed. I also get bored of IDing them and just keep them around for dropping for friends. Then again I probably have some decent ones I should roll to free some space... :/

legendaries are still kinda rare to me, but the ones have dropped multiple times are actually quite few (ivory tower x4, trim x2, tormentor x2, butchers sickle x2)

@gnawol gets 5-6 per run, i get 1 per 5-6 runs :/

A legendary plan (my first), an Inna Helm, and an Ass of Sunkist all dropped in the Keep 2 for me last night. Sadly nothing breaks million.

Did 2 more Alkaiser Runs. Looted a Nailbiter, and my first ever legendary ring. Unity? Stone of Jordan? No no no... Band of Hollow Whisper!

Looted an IK with what I thought bad rolls (~160 str, 80 resist, 11% life, vit....). But true enough as per @Metta's post, they still worth quite some millions in AH.

Also added TK Gaze and Madstone as 'looted b4' to my list.
