So, if i am running a MF swap, and im fighting an elite lets say, if i activate earthquake with my normal set, then swap to MF set before the EQ kills it, does it count the gear im wearing at the time of the monsters death, or the gear im wearing from the attack i started that killed the monster?

question about EQ and MF swap

As far as I am aware your magic find is not tied to the skill that killed the monster, rather the magic find of every person around the monster when it dies. So yes I am 99% sure it's the gear you are wearing when the monster dies.

I'm pretty sure its the gear you're wearing at the time of the monster's death.
I've been using earthquake then switching to MF gear for a while now. |

I agree with the above two. Instead of using eq, I swap out to mf set when using rend and personally I think it works.

I was playing in a public game and someone said MF is shared among the players. Can someone explain how the game "distributes" the MF?

It takes everyones magic find and adds it up and then gives everyone an equal cut of the total number. For example if 4 people have 125 120 125 and 130 magic find it would add it up and get 500 then divide it by four and distribute it, giving everyone 125. Even if a person has 200 MF and another has 0, They both get 100. Hopefully that explains it for ya :D Good luck farming! |

agreed. positive it's the equipment on at the time of death. which is why everyone times it to get it on right before the last hit.

It's definitely the gear equipped at time of death as people have already said. What I wonder is if halfway through the duration of earthquake you switch gear, does the dps of earthquake suddenly change as well?

I am also curious about this. Also does it reduce in damage when WOTB drops? |
