Am I going in the right direction?

Just got my monk to lvl 60 not too long ago. I'm curious if I'm specing in the right direction. Just upgraded my chest, shoulders and the skull grasp. (Thank you maintenance!) I'm low on cash, but I could probably afford 3-4m for each item. Ideally, I'd like to be able to run mp 1-2 act 3 somewhat fast. I'm thinking I'll need more hp and dmg, maybe resists, too.

I was wondering if there's anything I should consider upgrading as a priority.

Also, ignore the current skills, I was messing around with some different ones. :P

Your gears seem to be in the right direction. If possible, get more CC more CD without blowing your budget?

There are various viable builds. I was previously doing DW, but currently I am enjoying 2H perma-Tempest Rush. I am not as ambitious to run MP1-2, I am currently stomping MP0 with Max MF (5 Alkaiser Runs last night = 1 set + 5 legs for me, I am fine with MP0), 143k DPS on paper doll excluding +16% SW damage.

If you are interested in this build you can click on my D3 profile :P. Most of the time I am just doing right click (for Tempest Rush), press on it and move the cursor around the map (no need to click on monsters). I will left click (Deadly Reach - Foresight) for elites, and for the dmg boost after 3 strikes. I also use [2] Blinding Flash - FitL for the additional dmg boost. [3] to renew my SW to maintain 3 stacks. [1] for oh [filtered] button. [4] should always be up from the 1st second into the game.

Just for your consideration ;P. {Come on over to the dark side}

[edit: I didn't mention my passive skils. If you decided to try this, use Inspire skills on Templar too]

@douvinsky That actually looks really fun! Once I have the funds to buy up some of the stuff, I'll definitely have to try that out.

As for the CC and CD, I'm thinking I should start with upgrading my main ring, followed by my gloves? Maybe my bracers?

Got some stuff to try out the perma-tempest rush. Was pretty fun running it, and it paid off, too. Found this while I was screwing around. http://i.imgur.com/op862.jpg?1

Glad to hear that you find it fun :P.

On the gears, if your objective is to boost the CC & CD, seems that a tri-facta gloves and Natalya set (boots + rings for the bonus +7% CC) should help a lot.

In case you haven't known, get these two ready in your shopping:

1) DPS Calculator D3RAWR, utilise the info from +1/1% stats after you do the Armory Import.
2) Info on BiS/ Walmart gears for Monk, written by Metta BiS for Monks

Nat's seems doable, trifecta gloves seem expensive for now, though.

The guide is pretty great, answered a couple things I wasn't sure of, and I'll give the calculator a whirl. Thanks for the help!
