So I tried searching but did not find anything great, but AFAIK, the +elemental% from SOJ (and other items) applies to both offhand and mainhand. So if that assumption is true, and we know that when you WW, it alternates between OH and MH damage, does that mean you want the "black" damage weapons for both MH and OH to maximize the +elemental% damage?

Can anyone clarify?

I have not seen a blue post concerning the offhand and ww but the general rule of thumb is that the elemental damage from a weapon takes precident over say a ring or a source. Because Blizz seems to like keeping secrets about such things I would play it safe and go with black weapons in both hands. Btw, I hope you went with the cold element. The slowing effect is priceless especially if you decide to get an Echoing Fury. The monster tries to run away with the fear proc but cant because of the slow effect.

This is a good thread for others interested. It seems that SOJ w/ cold is better than an offhand cold weapon for negating the fear procs. Another great option for solo play is to stick a buriza on your scoundrel.

@yoyo, still shopping around for a cold soj - i've got into quite a few bid wars (and gave up after around the 80m budget i set for myself) on way more inferior SOJ's than yours... sighs.

I use an Azurewrath on my templar.

Increases Attack Speed by 15-21%
5.0-15.0% Chance to Freeze on Hit

Threw a couple of cheap IAS jewelry on him and it works pretty good.

i did a few runs with @yoyo and can vouch for the cold soj... his throw barb is pretty bad@$$ as well :)

I can also confirm this. I was able to test drive an soj with cold damage and it is awesome.

The problem I am currently having is sorting sojs to find cold damage and 28%+ damage to elites. Any suggestions? I am not planning to be a throw Barb to save some money so avoiding reduction to throw weapon.

when you're searching the AH, just do a search for armor, don't select rings... this should allow you to pick %dmg to elites... not sure if you can search for cold dmg, but try that

I think I tried this trick, but might have only looked for cold damage. At least it is some way to reduce the crap I have to look through.

Broke down and put a 56 mil bid on 6% cold damage 20% elite damage WW crit chance 6% not sure if I want to win it, but there was a bid on it.

Lost that big bid, but picked up a 6% cold dam, 30% elite dam DH SoJ for 9mil. It's TITs!!
