I finally decided to finish leveling my DH after watching some DH's using a Strafe build
Video Build It looked like a lot of fun so I had to try it, had about 8 mill to spend on my newly lvl 60 DH and with some Gem sharing got him to 80k dps with a moderate chunk of LS and LOH. This build is probably the most fun I've had farming in awhile, couldn't believe it actually worked. Even with my ridiculously low HP I was able to get through MP0 with a few deaths (I don't recommend spinning full force into reflect minion packs...). Anyone else try out this build with success? |
MP0 Strafe build

Kind of funny, I discovered a similar set for running Act 2 normal for hunting Leoric's Signet. I posted about it in a different thread.
I hadn't figured out how to make it work for Inferno, but Lazer had a ton of great tips. I've been looking for a use for Fan Knives since 1.0.5 was released, because it never seemed bad just never useful. It makes a ton of sense in a Strafe build against elites. It helps that his gear is really good for his speed. Pickup Radius on good equipment has gotten really expensive lately. It adds at least 8 million Gold to the Natalya's Bloody Footprints all on its own. Thanks for the link @collect3825! I really hope you stick around. We're a pretty good bunch here and we love having new people join the D3RMT community. |

Because of this post I actually tried out the build. I've been looking for a good DH build for awhile, and the one that's link I didn't like to much so I fooled around with my skills and ended up with this:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/LMengy66-1264/hero/20567918 It's pretty fun. Not sure how good it'd be on higher monster power levels, but I do pretty good with 80K dps on MP0. |

@collect3825
Thanks for this post. I decided to give it a try using my P-level 0 DH. There was a lot of STYLE, a lot of DEATHs, a lot of FUN ! I tried out a few variations, and finally settled (for now) for the following build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#jdgTSh!XbZ!bcYbcZ (my D3 profile probably not yet updated so you will see some differences as a result of continual testing) Variation 1 - MP0, Legacy Nat with +2 Discipline Regen bonus (Variation 2 would be MP0, Current Nat set with +20 max Discipline) A) Offensive (% Weapon dmg) Hatred based 1. Strafe - Demolition (156% + 187% in 9 yards) 2. Fan of Knives - Hail of Knives (320% 20 yards). 10 second cooldown, use it whenever you have a good chance (after vault in?)! 3. Multishot - Suppression Fire (165%. Rune is for the additional +1 discipline per mob hit. Could be replaced by Shuriken Cloud if I had higher survivability and higher dmg for 1. & 2.) Discipline based 4. Vault - Trail of Cinders (300% over 3 seconds) B) Defensive/ Mobility 1. Shadow Power - Gloom (if I had higher survivability I could have gone for Shadow Glide rune for the +30% movespeed) 2. Vault again for both escape and mobility C) Resource Generation 1. Companion - Bat Passives : Tac Advantage for mobility when vault, Vengeance for hatred & discipline via globes, Night Stalker for additional discipline via critical hits. Note: I decided to gave Legacy Nat a try too. Bought some bad rolls Legacy Nat just to try out the +2 discipline regen, but manage to keep my DPS above 100k (thanks to old gears from my monk). Still under testing. If not because of Legacy Nat I would probably settled for Vault - tumble instead of Vault - ToC. |

I use the strafe build for grinding
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Aaagogo-1319/hero/18539522 switching to the hungering arrow/elemental arrow for Ubers Love the strafe build, I usually play with 1 hand, using a Naga Epic mouse |

Found the multishot to be quite redundant with the legacy Nat, and the vault then fan then strafe play. Hence i have replaced it with shuriken cloud.
