New Asus Transformer - Pretty neat

Starting price $1300 for a crappy processor and poor graphics. I'm having trouble figuring out where the market is for these machines right now. With Windows 8, Microsoft has bet heavily on these types of machines as the replacement for the laptop. I could definitely see using this in a workplace environment if:
a) they can flawlessly implement a mouse and/or stylus b) affordably and flawlessly connect to projectors or external monitors |

I wouldn't pay that much for the i3 or 5. The i7, possibly. It does have two processors, the i(3, 5, or 7) and a Tegra 3 for when you go mobile. Considering i7 touch screen laptops like Sony's Vaio Duo go for about $1600, this computer, with a 7" larger screen and desktop/mobility options, may be competitive.
My current Kindle flawlessly connects to my tv or monitor via HDMI and my buddy has a projector with HDMI-in also so the tech is not new. Stylus works fine on my daughter's kindle and no reason a mouse wouldn't work on a desktop (although not that necessary anymore for windows 8). |
