not quite sure what the rage is about legacy nat items, but someone on reddit just posted this pic of some legacy zuni boots... and they're pretty sexy in my opinion

as far as i know, you cannot find ias on boots any longer...

so now i'm wondering... what other legacy items are out there that could be pretty cool?

Just to highlight an obvious. Legacy Nat Set - simply for the additional 2 discipline regen per second when you have a set of 4. Regardless of the bad rolls on individual pieces, still pretty bad ass in a long farming session. In my Alkaiser mp0 run, it is like having an additional 1200 discipline points to play with over 10 minutes.

oh interesting... i didn't know they changed the actual set bonus...thanks
i wish they would do that for tal's set.. man it sucks... they should do like 3 piece set = 10 arcane on crit or something

The Tals bonus for non-legacy can be powerful if used properly. When you have 4 pieces, you get an additional 9% elemental damage on physical weapons.

"(2) Set:
Fire skills deal 3% more damage.
(3) Set:
Lightning skills deal 3% more damage.
(4) Set:
Cold skills deal 3% more damage."

Tal's Allegiance for reference.

i don't think the 9% can justify the 4 pieces that you're gonna be using... chest, ammy, sure 100%
source... mmm maybe... helm, or belt? no thanks

i dont know, i just wish it were better :/

A crit chance Tal's helm may be worth something in PvP since a mempo with attack speed may not live up to its full potential considering everything is 3 hits or less and your dead.

That's not how it works. It says cold skills deal 3% damage. It's not the same as 5% to lightning damage or whatever. It's just saying Blizzard, Meteor, or some other elemental skill will do 3% more damage.

Are you sure? This link from this guy says it works. Unless its been patched.

I'm pretty sure. Why would they have two different worded phrases or whatever if they do the same thing? As for the testing part of that thread, of course a Tals amulet will boost the damage versus a rare amulet, because that's just how the 6% damage works.

Also, if you go on D3up.com and switch the set bonus on a Tals item with something else (I'm wearing three currently) it doesn't change my DPS at all.

@Shniggies, The boots from Asheara's set can give attack speed also.

Uh, because its blizzard...

But you could be right. Of course no one uses this set because as @shniggies pointed out the base stats on it is horrid compared to other legendary items. Even if I got 3% extra damage on a tal's chest with the added attack speed, its nothing compared to the survivability of a Zuni chest piece.

Asheara's Tracks still drop. At ilvl 53, the other affixes tend to suck, but with full 12% Movement Speed, Dex and Attack Speed they're not half bad. My set:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a343/ecocd/Diablo%203/AshearasTracks_zpsa5c0ac2c.jpg

They cost 100k a few months ago and add more dps than every rare and set boots I own. Ofc, the lack of armor and meaningful resist makes them pretty useless in a practical setting.

They only drop in Hell Acts 2 and 3 which means there aren't a whole available now and there won't be many in the future, either. I think people aren't really aware of them so the prices are still pretty cheap if you just want to try out a pair. There's one pair available via bid only right now with a perfect roll of 7 yd Pickup Radius and 12% Movement speed. I bet they'll still go for under 1 million Gold.

I just keep my pair around for when I want to go machine gunning around at 4 aps.

I just bought a legacy nat's set because those damn sneaky ninja perma-smoke screen DH's that are always invisible kill me off in PVP. Figure I'd try their strat a bit.

People like you, are driving up the prices further. Not that I have any complaints, since I have a set and spare rings for flipping, I only see my net worth going up :P. I was fortunate to buy an over100dex Mark below 100 few days ago.

I've always resisted getting the legacy nat's or even trying the market. But now I see its quite doable. I would even say its easy to corner a part of this market with enough gold. Dupes notwithstanding, these items will never appear again. They are the equivalent of real world gold or oil. Unless they create other items/passives that generate discipline or reduce the cost of discipline on some actives, the value of legacy nat's will only go up.

@Khan

When the Modern Nats were introduced, there were certain group of DHs who were disappointed with the changed set bonus, and preferred Legacy Nats. Blizzard promised they won't touch the set bonus of Legacy Nats, although it was claimed that they tried to stealth nerf its usefulness by tempering with the Gloom recently. Its unique set bonus on the discipline regen is already a good hedge against gold inflation. Not sure about PvP, but the way PvP works now seems to have provided a recent cataclysm to its price.

All in all, a pretty darn good comment for your 1,000th post. Congrats.

There's no way they allow DH's to retain the permanent Smoke Screen ability in PvP. They'll have to put a cooldown on all of the invincibility skills before long and even if it's 1.5 seconds, that's going to be enough time for a Monk to get in for damage.

Once the gear is no longer "Just Win" gear, the prices will probably come down even if it's still "probably win" gear.
