Private auction house forum.

I would like to see a private auction house forum. It doesn't have to be anything too special, but at least require a username to view. I would like to share a lot more details with flipping and strategies, but with the nice guys (and ladies) here, not the entire Internet.

Same. I dont post the details on all of the item types I flip as i don't want the entire interwebs to flood my market.

@anurian

Any chance we can get a private forum? I've been asked to provide a spreadsheet with my flips and I don't mind sharing with @baldy, @ninjax and a few others, but I would be very, very leary of the full spreadsheet hitting the net ... theres a few of us who are actually starting to make some money doing this. It's only $20 or $30 a day - and some days its nothing - but I'll take $20 a day for 15 minutes worth of work - thats for damn sure.

I will look into it today, how do we judge who gets an invite to it though?

Private Forum is a good idea but takes some implementation I imagine. In terms of who gets invited, just requiring to have a D3RMT login will shield the information from public consumption, so there's one layer of exclusivity. You can add layers based on contributions and whatnot, I'm sure.

Another more simple way that can be done off-line is to create a Google spreadsheet and choose to share it privately with people.. e.g. if @baccarat0809 wants to start a private D3 investing club, he can create his spreadsheet with updated comments and people who wish to join can PM him for access. The nice thing here is each user can control who sees what, but there may be drawbacks with regards to the spreadsheet structure.

I'd like to see a mod or two special for this forum who approves requests from active people on the forums. Having two mods would be ideal.

@anuiran - thanks !!!

@nuhertz +1 to having special mods - great idea.

I don't want this to get too big - but I don't want to leave it at only the people we have now. I don't want to exclude people who can contribute but I don't want to let in everybody who could potentially ruin things. It shouldn't be a tough decision as to who has access or who doesn't. Also, maybe have something setup where one of the flipping regulars can "vouch" for somebody else to come in, though the more I think about it that may not be a good idea.

Part of the reason for having the flipping area is to help drive traffic to d3rmt as our way saying thanks to @anuiran and the others for running / hosting this. My guess is in order to be given access to the flipping board, a person will have to be a member of d3rmt in good standing - and be a "quality poster" - and we should let the mod determine if the person is quality poster or not based on the overall work that person has done.

Personally, I don't mind having newbies coming in and asking questions, etc, and maybe we can setup a faq to help guide those new to the thread - the bottom line really is the more data we have, the more eyes we have working flipping, the more profit potential for ALL of us. As it is now, I'm making "gas money" every week flipping. This week I'll end up making over $100 ... and thats only having 1 d3 key. With another key and another sign-on that i'll buy this week, I'll have another 10 slots. I can see this growing to making $50 a day or so. Now that, ladies and germs, would be awesome.

And if the mods can setup the forum, I promise to make the time to put together a spreadsheet of all my flips - with all the details. I'm not the best person to perform the analysis but I'll provide the necessary data to get us started.

Thanks all !!!

Be careful, you need a cell phone number to transfer to Paypal.

Didn't know that was 100% required - though personally it doesn't bother me if they have it.

Google Paypal, SMS notifications and cell phone. It's a mess, lots of people upset. But the rmah can be used, then transfer the gold to the account that can sell. Another 10 auctions isn't bad, you just have to plan for it.

I used Hushed for my rubbish number. Its $10 for 3 months but you can get almost any international number with 100 minutes and 250 text messages. It keeps my real number away from everything.

Another layer of exclusivity would be to add the requirement of adding your profile on here. A lot of the people that pop up one time for the contests never do that much, so it would weed it down to more of just the normal community while still making it accessible for those that wish to join.

This is a good idea.

Currently I am operating on a very niche market, and I have a few pages of successful sells each day. I do not want to share this to the public, at most I am only prepared to share with 2 - 3 persons. 2 - 3 persons can already saturate this market.

I think this is a brilliant idea for those that require it.

There are members here who develop this and it's good to have a "team" to talk too and bounce ideas off of without letting everyone else know.

As for who is granted access; at the start i recommend those that are currently known and active on these forums doing the RMAH thing and from there a case by case basis from these forums only . "Internal trust recruiting".

Eventually i would like to definitely get in on this but i've got RL to sort out and get through at the moment for the next 3 - 4 months. From there it will take me a while.... i still struggle to understand the GAH!

What's there to be careful about? What's wrong with PayPal having my number?

Idk but if there is a 2nd bnet account you need a 2nd PayPal account and a 2nd phone number as you can't bind the same PayPal to different accounts - can you?

Sounds like a great idea. I have to admit I very much want to get into flipping but haven't had any luck thus far. So at least initially I would, admittedly, be a leech more than a contributor. However, I would be more than happy to contribute once I learn the ropes and figure out some other niches. So, if anyone wants to take me under there wing...*wink wink, nudge nudge*.

Actually no. PayPal allows you to have aliases, so I have multiple email addresses attached to my PayPal account. I just use a different email attached to the same PayPal for my wife's account, and voila!

I am all for the idea, it would just have to wait for the PvP updates and I can run it by Kojasou then.

@Anuiran

Any chance for an update A? It's been about 3 weeks now and I'm wondering time-frame wise how long you think it'll be so i can stop bugging you about it?

tahnks

It's best to ask @Kojasou this question, but I will forward it to him. He's been busy with the PvP updates.

I fully support the idea myself.
