Account hacked with mobile authenticator possible?

Two of my RL friends said they are unable to access D3, after not playing for a few weeks. They have mobile authenticator installed.

Is this possible? How should they request for reinstatement of their account? If you have any experience.

I suppose they can, if they really want to play D3 again. I don't think they want it that much, in addition
Just a layer of different time zone and language barrier to them.

You can check their online profile. If it refreshes and their chars are stripped of their gear, they'll know they were hacked in some fashion. Thing is, once they have full access to the account, they can get access to other information. If they somehow have a way to get a mobile authenticator, they'll have some credence when contacting customer service for any number of requests. It's worth at least inquiring if they were locked out for a good reason.
