1.0.8 PTR Multiplicative Change to XP Shrines

1.0.8 will now have XP shrines multiplicative, and MF/GF from Fortune shrines will exceed the 300% cap.

So according to my revised formula the largest XP bonus that you can have in a 4 person Monster Power 10 group is 1,597.40%.

((1 + Neph Valor + Player Bonus + Shrine) * (1 + Gear Bonus + Follower Bonus + Monster Power)) - 1
(( 1 + 75% + 30% + 25%) * (1 + 128% + 0% + 510%)) - 1 = 1,597.40%

Largest single player XP bonus is now 1,402%.

Since most people just use a Hellfire Ring and a Radiant Star ruby in their helm (not wearing a perfect Leoric Signet and 3 piece Cain's set) I will give that XP bonus on MP10 with a shrine.
4 players: 1,454.80% Single: 1,278%

Following up on this thread, they've updated the PTR iwth substantial nerfs to XP and drop rates for the little creepy crawlers in the game. They really, really don't want people spider farming anywhere in the game. With the new buffs to XP, I can see the sense in making these changes and I think it will go a long way towards encouraging a wider variety of play areas and actually killing elite packs.

In the meantime, I'll still be crushing spiders with my Barb on the live server and when 1.0.8 goes live, I can switch back to my DH, Monk, Wizard and HotA Barb which all seem to deal with elites better so I can take advantage of the multiplicative NV bonus.

I am fine with the nerfs on the small mobs, they needed to be done imo.

Love it, but you may want to edit the fact that in 4 player games you wouldn't get follower bonuses.

That is why the follower bonus is 0 when there is a multiplayer bonus. And vice versa.

That is why the follower bonus is 0 when there is a multiplayer bonus. And vice versa.


Copy that. Missed the zero and focused on the fact it was listed as a factor.

I fail to see any +XP mods in the calculations. Certainly those would need to be added to any piece that can have it! That's probably 250-300 XP per kill then multiplied by 1400% which would mean a cool 3500-4200 more XP per monster! Woo! I suggest you redo your calculations with max +XP mods on the equipment...

Edit: Over 100 monster kills that would go up to a respectable 350k-420k XP. Certainly paltry compared to the millions you would get per run, but over 100 runs, that would be another 35-42 million XP. You're clearly going to just be mooching off your party anyway with Cain's Set on in MP10 so why not wear all ilvl 55 gear?

It goes up to +24 on ilvl 55 items. I think Cain's Set pieces can go up to +12. It's available on all gear slots. I believe the same 20% bonus from Followers counts on +XP items which would mean Amulet, Weapon and Shield.
