Very odd sale

So I'm busy cleaning up stash on my wife's account, and I see she has some small gems. So instead of just vendoring or dumping them, I figure just for a laugh I will put it up on AH.

Was really surprised to see the high cost it defaulted too.
Was even more surprised that it sold within an hour.

How can that be possible? Did I just rob some poor fellow (look how hypocritical my flipper thread looks now)
Or is someone pulling some cheat or hack with small gems. I can't think why this would sell for so high, while a flawless square goes for a tenth of the price.

A casual gamer who has just trained the JC to be able to craft the next higher gem, and too eager to buy some Flawed Ruby so that he could craft some higher gems? He might not know the value of the higher gems or do the search of prices. Some players behave like that, you would be surprised.

I don't understand it either, but I have sold a lot of low level gems for several thousand gold each. They sell better than flawless squares too.

It's nice that we can clean out our bags this way.
