I didn't get on the PTR, or get a beta key, so I haven't tried out Paragon 2.0 yet. So I apologize if I'm late to the game on this. But it sounds like MF is getting a severe nerf for sets/legendaries:
"MF will apply 100% of its benefit to Blue items, 30% to Yellow items, and 10% to Legendary and Set items. This means someone with 300% MF will end up finding roughly 30% more Legendary and Set items than someone with 0%." -Travis Day source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/10895540027?page=2#24 I typically try to bump up my MF to at least 150-200, but it looks like in RoS it will be just about worthless. Thoughts? |
Death of MF?

Not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure MF had reduced effectiveness on legedaries from the start.
But don't quote me on this, I don't have any hard facts. |

It has been reduced in effectiveness and it also appears a lot less on items now. It is also no longer available through paragon levels.

@Anuiran What are the choices now for the adventure tab? Last I saw it was pickup radius, MF, move speed, and resource regen.

@woodssaxon, the tabs are:
Core - Main Stat - Vitality - Movement Speed - Maximum Resource Utility - Area Damage (Adds aoe to all attacks) - Resource Cost Reduction - Life on Hit - Gold Find Offense - Attack Speed - Cooldown Reduction - Critical Hit Chance - Critical Hit Damage Defense - Life - Armor - Resist All - Life Regeneration |

Thats odd.
Their whole argument way back when was to add it to Paragon levels so that people don't need it on equipment. Actually... that was almost entirely why most people bothered with paragon levels. For the MF. The stat increase was almost insignificant. |

I haven't seen it on a single piece of equipment in RoS other than a single legendary ring I have. They have kinda abandoned the concept of Magic Find entirely. |

No more chance of buying them.
Drop rates decreased. MF gone. hehe, its like they really don't want us to find items. Like that would make us play for many more hours. ;) |

I think their reasoning was that it wasn't fair for someone to run with 300% MF compared to 0% MF. Personally I think that's silly, because you sacrifice damage and HP to run with 300% MF (neglecting paragon MF), so you kill slower, so it balances out somewhat. I picked my gear considering the tradeoff between MF and kill speed. They've claimed to try to add more options on gear besides main stat, IAS, CC, and CD, but now it seems like they got rid of a stat that adds more variety to that.
Anyways thanks @Anuiran for the update. |

With Magic Find it becomes far too easy to get gear in Reaper of Souls. Everytime you kill a boss for the first time you are guaranteed a legendary item. The rewards from Bounties and Rifts (Horadic Caches) have a huge chance at Legendary items. Not to mention the fact that drop rates are just increased across the board at level 70, there really is no reason for Magic Find.
With the fact that every Legendary I have found has been super useful and just how often they drop... I am extremely happy with the balance of finding items in Reaper of Souls. |
