Can someone please explain to me what exactly a Whirlwind Barb is? I've heard of it before, but I don't quite understand.

Uses Sprint as primary attack
Whirlwind as secondary attack

Quite easy and fun if well geared.

Just don't fall into the trap of trying to use WW as your primary damage dealer. Sprint with high CD will destroy things while you run past them.

with what is better to use rune Whirlwind?

you need hurricane for whirlwind barb to get from mob to mob fast so you hit more and regain hp faster from the life on hit stat.
how much ress to all and dps does a ww barb need for act 3 farming?

I have started trying this, is is pretty effective when you get the timing right, but works best on inferno, earlier the mobs just die too easily. Relies on very high crit chance (40+ unbuffed it desired)for best results though, as this build relies on crits generating high Fury generation.

My build;
Passives: Ruthless, Weapons master(use an axe or mace for crit bonus), Unforgiving (nerves of steel is good too)

Primary - Bash - Instigation - good fury generation + with War cry + high crit = Fast regen
Secondary: Whirlwind - Hurricane - this option allows you to move really fast while whirlwinding
War Cry - Impunity - Basic essential for barbs for resits/armour
Sprint - Run Like The Wind - move FAST! + tornado's will all cause aoe [& crit] damage
Battle Rage - Into the Fray - adds 3% crit chance BUT causes every crit to regen 15 Fury ( so combined with the above should mean you can Whirlwind indefinately while mobs are present)
Wrath of the Beserker - Thrive on chaos - adds crit chance and movement speed and can go indefinately when you generate enough fury

So basically, find a big pack, make sure your fury is full, if not Battle rage + Bash

Then Wrath, Battle Rage + spam sprint every 4 seconds and move in circles or back and forth (but moving far enough that Sprint's tornadows spawn) remembering to keep War Cry and Battle rage in effect. This can mean you can stay in Wrath the whole time and constant whirlwind with enough fury thanks to constant crit's coming off whirlwind and tornadoes.

Works really well, but at only 500 resists and 5k armour unbuffed and 22k life, I die too much in Act 2.
Axe/shield best before you are well specced or 2 handed with axe/mace works well depending how much crit and defence you have (shield adds crit chance and resist/defences)

EDIT: oh yes you need LoH as high as you can so every hit heals you... aim for 1-1.5k

WW barb is a lot of fun and destroys everything.. my barb has no issues in inferno

if u ve enough gear its most fun build in barb there is 2 main issues 1. generate furry 2. destroy everyting / if u ve enough crit chance furry wont be a problem for u since u can get %15 from passives crit shouldnt be a problem either and u only need a little all res(like 500 whitout warcry) and loh(min 500-600 should be fine ) for survival whit this build u ll farm amazingly fast and easy if u compare to other builds or classes gear for this build cost not that much.

The easiest build to farm for any char is the WW barb . The first person to reach paragon 100 was also a WW barb .

The only thing bad about the WW barb is you probably miss a lot of the legendary drops as you are just running pass the mobs and you won't even notice it .

I probably miss a few but I don't really care .. LOL.

What would a minimum level of gold me for a viable WW build?

Spin2win is just so op leveling a barb at the moment!

How can you find farming a3 hour after hour, day after day with no change whatsoever boring??? ;)

I have been spinning for a couple weeks. Got inexpensive all res/decent crit chance items and went right through act 3 and 4. Farming act 3 with around 1k LoH 500 res and 30k dps.

My DPS is about 13K but I can do solid runs on Act 3 and barely dying maybe 1 or 2 times (like when I get caught by those exploding monsters on keep lvl 2)

I run this build but found i got DC'd way too often because of the WW bug, losing stacks and just being a general annoyance.
If you find this happening to you, replace WW with Furious charge - Merciless Assault (the rune that reduces the CD by 2 seconds per enemy hit)
It does a similar job as WW for getting you through places / okay placement for sprint tornadoes, and absolutely decimates large packs of mobs.

WW barb is the IMO the best way to farm with a barb.

As a farmer , WW barb is the best . I could clear all the elite mobs in Act 3 in less than an hour.

I love this! Just hit 60 and so far inferno is cake. Of course only in act 1 atm.

Really WW barb is one of the most effective build in the face of diablo 3 in terms of Lvl and farming..

but in Patch 1.0.5 .. I doubt by reducing the Sprint w/ rune; Run like a wind by almost 60%..

I could say its possible end of WW barb..
