Has anyone else had their account suspended for playing normally and just selling an awful lot on the RMAH? I've had my account suspended today as i was playing, Message is "This account ahs been suspended due to violations of the Battle.net service policies. Please check the account's registered email address for more information. (Error 53) Naturally I checked my email and got the following nifty email from blizzard; Greetings, Now anyone on my friends list knows i get the luxury of playing at work as well at home so i've played what people would relate to a "shit ton". I've recently had my game region changed to access the RMAH and have made ~$160 in the past 7 days, $68 of that being today alone in which they automatically suspended my account afterwards Has anyone had their account suspended for selling a lot on RMAH in a short space of time? Naturally i've opened a ticket with blizzard and see what their answer is |

@gnawol Wow. Sorry to hear about that man. It hasn't happened to me. I know after patch 1.0.4 notes (not actual patch, just the notes) were released I sold so many batches of 20 Brimstones I couldn't keep up with my inbox. I didn't have a problem then. That being said, I do have friends who've had 3 day bans due to buying gold on the RMAH due to their Battlenet and Paypal email addresses not matching. If you're funding directly to your paypal account, there may be an issue if both sides don't match exactly (investigating for possible fraud/account takeover issues). |

does the new region match your paypal address? I saw few people complaining that they had their account suspended after doing a region change. |

I hope they will not remove the money from the account (apparently, they can do that if they want, after you change regions) but I don't think this is a perma-ban, you only need to contact them and give proof of your address change. |

Have not seen this message myself as I don't use RMAH -> it's a game and I play for fun. But on other forums I read this happens a lot if you make some real money. Seems to be a normal action for RMAH use. Sad to hear you can't play till they remove suspension :( |

Hehe. I play for fun also. Except making money is on my top 10 list of fun things to do. |

@gnawol, Like Venoom said if your address does not match the automated system will ban you. I recommend calling Blizzard directly to solve the situation! |

@h311o Why would using RMAH preclude the ability to have fun? It's a legitimate part of the game and a fairly easy way to gain wealth (both in gold and real dollars). As long as you enjoy doing whatever you're doing, the game is "fun" for you. It's also certainly *not* normal to have an account suspended just for using the RMAH. But I digress... @gnawol As long as you haven't done anything in violation of the ToS, I'm certain Blizzard will amend this. I haven't been suspended, but my account was hacked before and I lost everything; got a rollback pretty easily as soon as they got around to it. I was also suspended from the RMAH for some reason once, but they fixed it pretty quickly. So yeah, just a minor annoyance... Btw, 3 days? They've gotten to my issues in 24-48 hours. |

I'm sure its an issue of volume and prioritization. I had a friend that got a roll back because he was hacked after only 1 hour via back and forth emails with blizzard. I'd say the 3 day issue is due to the need to communicate with Paypal and taking their customer service volumes into account. |

@Khan I was referring more to the question of "how does he know it's 3 days?" Did Blizzard tell him or is he just estimating based on others' experience? Either way, that sucks. You would think a purely AH issue would only result in an AH lock, not a gameplay suspension. |

@Metta Oh, I think he was referencing to my friend who had a 3 day ban. My buddy mentioned that Blizzard said they had to iron discrepancies out with Paypal and Battlenet regarding his email address. It happened just after 1.0.4. |

@Baldy I think with me offline now, you will probably get my share of legendaries and set items, i'm pretty sure you will want my account reactivation delayed ;-) Got the following from Blizzard today Thanks for contacting us, I am very happy to be able to assist you today. Let's see how speedy they get back to me on this and what good reason they have, i'm guessing as everyone has said that my paypal address doesn't match my current billing address in their records. |

@Baldy It was Dirk Diggler! @baccarat0809 sadly nothing, i didn't even get a response today, kinda saddened by the support from Blizzard so far. I would have understood them locking access to GAH and RMAH but not to the entire game to be honest |

@gnawol It makes sense from the perspective of it being an anti-hacking tool. There are probably some thieves that just drop the hacked account's equipment into the RMAH at a severe discount to get quick sales. If all they did is suspend the RMAH access, then the hacker just trades the equipment to a different account and sells it from that account. Hence, they lock the entire account. Of course, implementing a policy with such a high false-positive rate comes with the responsibility to correct said false-positives with alacrity. They appear to have done one without the other. Some people weren't talking to each other at Blizzard when this decision was made, particularly since it's costing them their $1 fee for every legitimate RMAH sale they're inadvertently blocking. |

So that's what happened to the Wangster! Sorry to hear that happened right before your vacation. Hopefully you get your account back soon I don't want to get too far ahead of you on paragon leveling. Also I've heard about people on d2jsp getting their d3 accounts suspended for simply selling items on the rmah. Not sure what came out of it all you can do is just keep emailing them so hopefully they speed up the process to get unlocked. Hope to see you back soon. Miss ya bud. On a side note |

@Baldy You got me! Here's my list of top 3: 1) Schadenfreude - I enjoy watching sports not to see my team or fighter win. I enjoy the expressions of the losers. More closeups of grown men crying please! 2) Making money! Woot! (I'm a banker. Come on...) 3) Working out - natural selection. nuff said. |

Alright, my account was unlocked today. As everyone assumed it was because of a discrepancy between my blizzard.net real name (naturally, my real name is not lo wang) and the real name on the paypal account. My account has been unlocked and now i need to provide them with my passport details, etc to be able to sell on the RMAH again For anyone that is planning on RMAH'ing, i suggest getting your details up to date before you commence with selling! I'll be back on when im back from Montreal, until then enjoy stealing my drops @Baldy |
