Thoughts on 1.0.5 barb build?

So after seeing just how efficient a Barb is compared to a WD when farming, I started leveling my barb to 60. I'm not going to bother gearing him until after 1.0.5 (to prevent buying stupid items), but I wanted to see if we could get a theorycrafting thread going here!

Given the LOH nerf for Run Like The Wind, I wanted to see if there was any other build that could keep WotB up while still doing good AoE damage. I came up with this:

My Build

Let me know what you think! A few tweaks here and there (depending on your personal gear), and I think we can find a good replacement WW barb build :-D

The text for your link is the link you want, the url for your link is the forum.

If you want to keep WOTB up for extended periods of time, you can't do much else than Sprint - Run like the wind, but honestly it begs the question Why would you want it up all the time anyway?

Yeah, sure it protects from nightmarish and frozen but neither of these spawns on every monster nor are they completely unavoidable.

The WW build really won't suffer a ton after 1.0.5 as long as you have decent gear. If you're relying entirely on LOH for your life regen you may encounter a few survivability issues though. Best way to combat that would be to add some life steal to your gear since it's not effected by the sprint proc nerf.

As far as WotB uptime, I never really understood why people find that to be an issue. You don't need 100% uptime. I rarely use it at all unless I encounter a frozen/nightmareish/jailor pack, and even then as long as you manage your fury properly you should have more than enough time to melt down the pack before it runs out. Beyond killing specific packs, I don't see why you need it up.

I can confirm that the WW build is still fine. I was able to farm a coupla keys and the plans lastnight on MP5-I wouldn't say it was super easy, however, it was not difficult by any means. You just have to pay attention.

Also, I switched out War Cry and am using Overpower (crushing advance) instead. It's pretty awesome to say the least. I would aim for 50% crit to make Overpower spammable. Plus, having more buttons to press makes it a little more exciting, for me.

WW build is stronger now, or at least I feel much stronger.

the buidl is fine but I have not been able to replace Warcry as I still need the resists. This may change since the removed the scaling issue for damage. I may be able to switch to rend or overpower. That might actually allow me to farm MP8 vs. MP6 due to the damage increase.

I swapped out Warcry Iwith Overpower - Crushing Advance) since the patch launched and found zero problems switching. I am, however, running approx. 550 all resists unbuffed. I've been farming mp5 pretty efficiently also.

I have yet to try it today with the recent damage nerfs. Curious to see if I can handle mp7+. Having said that though, I do find that Warcry is better, when in a party.

My recent change is with passives. Had but as armor. Went to thorns/more armor. Plan to go with 3% LS as I dropped OH weapon that had 898 loh and 2.7% LS. For a higher dps weapon with just LS.
