In case any other wizards are having issues with the naked achievements, just get your health low enough for the ancient guardian familiar to activate and don't let your health regen (avoid globes if you can). This shouldn't be necessary if you gear your follower well, but it works if you get stuck.

How do you kill Diablo naked? I remember there's an achievement where you have to kill the four major bosses naked. I'm not sure how you would do this without a follower.

If I recall, they don't specify you have to kill them solo naked. Anuiran is doing that, but if you're just an achievement hound, you just need to find a friend.

Another option is that only the killing blow has to be landed while naked so you can drop your gear before your follower lands the killing blow. NOTE: if your gear is on the ground against a boss and you die, your gear disappears. Buy a bunch of cheap stuff on the AH with just enough stats to deal with the boss before trying the "strip to your skivvies" method of boss killing.

Well if you were only going for the achievements, you can do this on hell.

Yeah I guess if you do it with someone, then that's actually pretty easy. Have the friend whittle Diablo down to almost nothing and then have him rez you so you can finish Diablo off.

The question I have is: do you have to enter the battle naked or can you just fight him in regular gear and then remove all your gear before the finishing blow? I always thought it was only the first method that counted. Also, can't you just put the stuff in your inventory if you're stripping instead of having to drop it on the ground? Otherwise, yeah, that would be kinda risky...

Even on Hell, it's impossible to fight Diablo solo naked. You do about 20-100 damage and Diablo has what, over a million HP.

I've done Naked Lust (did it a long time ago for lulz) and I killed Butcher (pretty annoying, but took me like 5-7 tries) naked. But yeah, I was kinda discouraged when I realized that Diablo is seemingly impossible (no follower).

@Metta I was only speaking generally.

I read that the rules are slightly different for some of the bosses. For Diablo, I don't think you even need the killing blow. I did these over a month ago so it's not fresh in my mind. I think for Belial I did it co-op and just landed the killing blow. I don't think this tactic worked on Cydea or maybe Azmodan, so I did them solo.

You are also right about moving stuff to your inventory, I believe that's what I did for Belial. For Cydea/Az/Butcher I was naked from the start (not sure if this was needed).


Now that you mention it, though, I wouldn't be surprised to see someone solo naked kill Diablo (could maybe be done in a few hours). I wonder how much damage someone would do at paragon 100. I'm thinking the safest way to do a lot of DPS would be DH with 3 sentries.

I used Reactive but next time I think I'll use Shocking Aspect with Unstable Anomaly as a Passive.

First of, I am an achievement hound. (At 96% overall)

This is quite an odd one, because the requirements for the 4 bosses (The Hero's New clothes) and the Cydaea one (Naked Lust is totally different)

For "Naked Lust": You have to have no gear for the entire fight (That is: you have to remove your gear before entering the door from tower lvl2). But you don't need to get the killing blow.
So when I did it I simply removed my gear, and started the fight with a friend. He did the killing, while I just ran around trying to stay alive. BUT. We both got the achievement. This was way back in 1.03, so don't know if it still works like that.
Point is, all members in the party got he achievement while I was the only one with no gear.


For "Hero's New clothes":
For all bosses: You have to have no gear on for the entire duration of the fight. You cannot enter the area, wittle the boss down and then remove your gear for the killing blow.

For all the bosses except Diablo you have to get the killing blow => This means YOU or your FOLLOWER, i.e. no other ally. But your follower can. For Diablo you can simply join a friend while wearing no gear and have him kill diablo. You will get the achievement for just standing there.

When I did this it went like so:
Butcher. I did solo with a wizard using Familiar.
Belial and Azmodan. I did with a friend. I unequip all gear, and invite ally. He did all the work while I just try to stay alive. When the boss is practically dead he leaves the game. This causes my follower to return to the fight, and finish the boss.
Diablo. I had no follower, but you don't need the killing blow, so I simply went into the fight with no gear, and let my ally do all the work.

Obviously my way gets you the achievement... but I can't say that I really was able to kill the boss with no gear. Just the Butcher so far. But also with lower diff (MP0) and the better gear available I'm guessing you can now gear up the follower much better than when I did the achievement.

To add - it should be ok if you die and are revived, at least on the Belial fight. I remember dieing a few times on the 3rd phase and it counted, but I don't know if this is also true for the other bosses (I don't see why it wouldn't be).
