Season 27 (Light's Calling) is here and we have the patch notes for you! Set your sights on the new season and take a shot at ranking yourself higher than ever before! With all of these changes, there's plenty to work off such as seasonal themes like Angelic Crucibles; balance patches including Sanctified Powers or Items. Whatever you prefer-plus more. The new consumable item called Angelic Crucibles can be used to Sanctify any equipped piece of gear. After being uncovered by Nephalem, these heavenly artifacts will add perfect Ancient-level stats on all affixes while also preserving its Legendary Power and adding one power unique for each class!
The chance of getting an Angelic Crucible has been doubled but will not be transferred to players’ non-seasonal character. Sanctified items will be only available during the season 27 and will not be transferred to your non-seasonal character when the season ends. The Angelic Crucibles are scattered throughout Sanctuary, and can be found at level 70. Don't forget that crafted items do not have a chance of being sanctified- so you won’t get any stats when trying to upgrade them with divine energy!
With each new level, you will have access to more powerful and intricate items. There is no limit on how many times a Sanctified Item can be equipped but only one item can be equipped each time.
There is a way to make your sanctified items wearable again. Use another Angelic Crucible on them. If you are a Follower, you cannot equip these Sanctified items.
This season accomplishment is all about powers of Heaven. With the 21 unique class-powers Developers Goal was to introduce changes to skills that can redefine the way you play a build or set. This season players will witness what Nephalem can accomplish with the powers of Heaven.
The Diablo III experience will be more approachable for new players with several changes to Adventure mode and difficulty unlocks. The Experience rewards system has been dialled back; Echoing Nightmares is going provide fun loot like the Vault while maintaining its place as an important source of Augment materials in-game. The Experience rewarded upon completion of an Echoing Nightmare has been reduced by 83%.
The developers have taken the time to improve your Uber Boss experience so that you can play more games without having them remake it all over again.
Adventure Mode is now unlocked for all accounts. You are no longer required to complete the Campaign to access Adventure mode.
You can have access to Normal-Torment 6 difficulties by default, and upon reaching level 70 with a character. You can also gain access to Torment 7–Torment 16.
Uber Boss realms now close automatically after 60 seconds of being defeated by the player. This is in addition to already existing portals that can be opened on a single game session for an additional challenge!
Whirlwind pulls in and holds all enemies within 25 yards. Hammer of the Ancients hits in all directions around the Barbarian. Every tenth cast of Hammer of the Ancients unleashes a powerful shockwave.
The shockwave now deals 10x damage. Hitting enemies generates stacks of Tempest Rhythm. Activating Wrath of the Berserker consumes 50 stacks of Tempest Rhythm and startles enemies within 16 yards, causing them to take 2% increased damage per stack for 20 seconds. Max 50 stacks.
Blessed hammer's power has been restored, and this time it will leave a path of destruction in its wake. Blessed Hammer now damages enemies within 15 yards from where the crusader throws them as well!
Developers have updated the visual effects of First of the Heavens power to make it more visually distinctions. For five seconds, you'll get a much faster and intense version that should help you stay alive in combat!
After casting Falling Sword, you descend from the sky with two powerful Archangels that can be called upon to deal destruction on earth's behalf! These beings won't cast their spells immediately after being summoned; instead, they wait for your command before attacking or defending respectively...
The developers have updated the abilities of Archangels to remove any bonuses they may have received from skills or items. Their effectiveness reduced by 33%. They no longer receive a buff when nearby enemies are shredded with Falling Sword. Now you can have two Archangels at once! The damage done by each angel also decreased slightly in comparison against before where it was granting more health than usual.
Strafe now casts the last non-channelled Hatred spending ability cast.
Developers fixed a bug that sometimes-caused Strafe's sanctified power to stop casting the Hatred spending ability. They also eliminated an issue where his multi-shot visuals were firing in entirely unexpected directions!
Casting Vengeance unleashes a barrage of rockets that deal damage equal to 3% per second, up from 2%. The number of shells fired increases over 30 seconds. Enemies are less likely receive full hits at closer ranges where their armour has not yet been weakened by other sources like arrows or spells. Elites and bosses however still take just as much punishment due mostly because they're already highly resistant targets.
The developers have been busy working on updating the Cluster Arrow's tooltips and animations to make them feel more fluid. They've also adjusted its visual effects, sounds, or anything else needed for clarity! The next update will see these changes come full circle as players are able look into what is going inside their enemies with new insight from this skill alone.
The new Firing Cluster Arrow is a much more dangerous and strategic weapon then before. The arrows now drop with an explosive core, which can be released to unsuspecting foes.
The developers have updated the functionality of Shattering Light so it no longer has an opposite effect when struck with a bell in your inventory. You can now face any direction while using this ability and even summon other players’ bells for mutual protection! There are also sounds associated with Wave Of Light Sanctified power, which will alert nearby enemies to destroy them before they go off Scripted Conflict
Casting wave of light resonate through the air and summon bells at your location. When someone approaches one or more active bells will be dealt damage based on how close they are a distance from each bell's pitch! You can activate up to 5 bells at one time.
The Way of the Hundred Fists is a powerful fighting style that uses combative techniques to devastating effect. This second-stage combo punch increases its damage by 2% with every consecutive hit, up until 350 hits!
The target of your Seven-Sided Strike is barraged with spiritual punches for 15 seconds. This can only affect one enemy at a time.
The developers have updated the tooltip to clarify which Corpse skills are impacted by Sanctified. You can now store up to 30 Corpses in your golem, which are risen from the bodies of fallen foes. Each corpse stores consumes one use per cast with a maximum number that may be consumed at any given time.
The Sanctified power of the Army of Dead is always at work in your behalf, even when you're not consciously aware. 50 yards from where this item is equipped enemies will constantly be assaulted by an infinite number. We call this an Unconventional Warfare!
Hitting enemies with Death Nova storms will leave behind a spirit that jumps around and causes Status Effects. The more times you hit them, the stronger this curse becomes! Up to three spirits can be sent at a time.
If you're looking to take down some monsters, look no further than the Piranhas pool! Developers added a visual effect to indicate the area where monsters are pulled by Piranhas.
Bogadile's will pull all enemies within 60 yards, including those that are already haunted by its Locust Swarm. The effect of being pulled into the pool causes a lesser enemy to become instantly killed while Elites and Bosses take very heavily damage so they should be attacked with caution!
Horrify becomes a poisonous aura that causes enemies to receive 100% more damage and deal 15% less of it.
You periodically summon two Gargantuan and three Zombie Dogs. The dogs can now also use any of the effects from your runes, while their own are active! For every enemy hit by sacrifice they will get burned causing them 100% extra damage taken from pets.
Whenever you need to finish off an enemy quickly, charge up your Storm Armor for a powerful thunderbolt that instantly kills any nearby foes. Bosses and elites won't be killed but they will take significant damage! Your Storm Armor charges over 30 seconds now.
When cast, the Arcane Orbit rune will now periodically generate up to four orbiting charges that each have their own chance at generating an additional orb. If all of these pellets manage to survive for long enough in one go then they'll detonate together which should make things much more interesting!
Arcane Orb now periodically spawns up to four orbiting charges that will generate an additional orb when cast. All charges from the Arcane Orbit rune now detonate at the same time.
Magic Missile fires are reduced to 10 missiles. The missiles from this spell are now more accurate and have been given the seeker rune, making them even easier to aim!
The strength of a guardian is their wisdom. A true protector knows that nothing can be gained without first giving up something valuable.
The guardian's jeopardy 2 pieces of bonus is a powerful combo. For every 1000 base vitality you have from equipped items, your melee damage reduction increases by 1% and missile defences increase as well!
With the Guardian's Jeopardy 3 pieces bonus, you can finally use that suit of armour to its full potential. You'll receive 100% more strength from equipped items with all other stats.
Developers fixed a bug that prevented the Legendary Spear Empyrean Messenger from dropping. Captain Crimson's Trimmings had an annoying error where its 3-piece set bonus wouldn't work properly and now they're just perfect!
Tooltips for the Bone Spike and Siphon Blood tools have been updated to display their correct damage values. A bug that caused Sanctified items not always roll with Ancient-level stats is now fixed as well! Another quick fix is for a bug where two Slow Time effects would stack if you had both of them activated at once.
Strafe has been updated so that any equipped weapon, rather than just bows can be used to strafe.
With the Armor of Akkhan rework, developers are hoping to highlight a fantasy where crusaders are knights-commander. They pass judgment on enemies of light with their shields and lances in battle!
Developers Fixed a bug that allowed any attack to proc the 4-piece bonus, reducing cool downs. They also fixed an issue where Akkhan's 6 piece was not working with Phalanx Avatars.
The armor of Akkhan 2-pieces bonus that gives judgment no cool down and its effects are refreshed each time you cast it.
The armor of Akkhan is a 4-piece bonus that reduces the cool down for your champion's ability to go into battle and win it faster! This means you can use more often, but make sure not get too close or else he'll apply Condemn on those who do manage defeat them with Judgment.
Developers fixed a bug that allowed any attack to proc the 4-piece bonus, reducing cool downs. They also fixed an issue where Akkhan's 6 piece was not working with Phalanx Avatars.
They also updated visual effect of Condemn proccing on targets around players as well as increased. The new AI for Phalanx Avatars will now prioritize targets around you, making it easier to hit your opponent without any interference.
Increases Phalanx Damage affixes and the Enforcer Legendary Gem can now benefit Phalanx Condemns.
Eternal Union: Increases the duration of summoned Phalanx Bowmen and Bodyguard indefinitely.
With the Blood Necromancer being a single-target build, Trag'Oul's Avatar didn't really work well. The developers wanted to increase its effectiveness against small numbers of enemies.
Trag'Oul's Avatar 2-pieces bonus that allows you to use your Life-spending abilities without paying essence. The new Tragosils avatar Eat Bullets and Siphon Blood now gains the effects of every rune, so it will not cost anything but blood.
Trag'Oul's Avatar is a set of 4- and 6-piece bonuses that increase your health regeneration while at full life. This means you can heal more quickly, but it also affects how much damage skills deal with Life-spending abilities!
Trag'Oul's Avatar 4-piece bonus gives your healing from skills is added to your maximum Life for 45 seconds, up to 300% more.
Trag'Oul's Avatar 6-piece bonus gives your Life-spending abilities deal 10,000% increased damage and your healing from skills is increased by 100%.
The Iron Rose's purebloods have a 100% chance of casting their powerful spell, Siphon Blood. This will cause the next death nova to be even more devastating than before with an increased damage bonus that stacks up ten times!
Bloodtide Blade's Death Nova has been upgraded to dealt 300-400% increased damage for every enemy within 25 yards, up until a maximum of 50 foes.
Funerary Pick has been modified to allow for an additional 2 targets. All damage taken is increased by 300% unless there are only 1 target left, in which case it'll be 600%. The power shift now gains 20% per stack and benefits all skills!
The Delsere's Magnum Opus had been feeling weak, clunky and wasn’t meeting the desired game play flow. To make it more engaging for players who prefer a slower pace; developers streamlined how quickly you could level up your wizard while still retaining that accomplished through hard work. The core theme behind Tal Rasha'S Elements changed after many updates so now there are more changes coming back around again introducing what was missing.
The Delsere's Magnum Opus is a 2-piece bonus that can cast arcane orb, energy twister and magic missile. It also has the ability to use Shocking Pulse or Spectral blade in addition with other skills like Electrocute for serious damage! Amazing collection of skills that will make you feel like a true arcane savant. Casting anyone those spells also causes Slow Time to be cast at your location. Reducing enemy resistance and making it easier for teammates' attacks hit their target!
The Delsere's Magnum Opus is a 4-piece bonus that you take 75% reduced damage while using your slowing skill. This means the more time spent in slow motion, the better! Allies inside of these Radius also gain half their maximum health regeneration rate which makes it easy for them to stay alive as long as possible.
The Delsere's Magnum Opus is a 6-piece bonus that will make you an even more dangerous force to be reckoned with. For five whole seconds after exiting Slow Time, enemies take 12500% increased damage from your Arcane Orb, Energy Twister, Magic Missile, Shock Pulse, Spectral Blade, Electrocute, and Arcane Torrent abilities.!
The Crown of the Primus is one step ahead in every situation. You can see what's coming, but you have to act quickly before it gets too late!
Tal Rasha's Elements is a 2-piece bonus that can be obtained by damaging enemies with any of the four basic damage types: Arcane, Cold and Fire are from Magic; Lightning does not have an element but it still counts as one for these purposes. When you're near enough to your target so they take some sort of punishment (a spell or shot),
The Tal Rasha's Elements 4-piece bonus is a rather interesting way to increase your resistance. It offers 50% increased armor and magic resistances for 8 seconds after you've been hit by an element from this set that corresponds with one of those four elements: arcane, cold fire or lightning!
The Smoldering Core has been updated to include new features and changes, including increased damage dealt by meteors on consecutive hits against the same target. This stacks up ten times before being refreshed. if you're fighting an enemy that is already smoking from our last attack it will continue getting worse!
Mirror Ball is a Magic Missile now fires 2 extra missiles and deals 400-500% increased damage.
The Mempo of Twilight has been altered so that its Meteor Shower rune will be applied to all casted Meteors, which means they'll deal 300–400 additional strikes before falling off - this is an excellent way to make sure you're always damaging your foes!
The monks of Inna's mantra have been riding high for several seasons, but they're about to fall off the waves. It is time that we bring our nerf shark friend!
Inna's Mantra 6-piece bonus turns your five runed Mystic Allies into a powerful weapon. Gain the passive abilities of these loyal companions at all times and they'll be there for you in battle, increasing damage dealt by 900% when one is out!
Bindings of the Lesser Gods is on display in this skill. Hitting an enemy with your Cyclone Strike will cause them to take 150-200% increased damage from you and allies for 5 seconds! If that’s not enough, Split Fire Alliances grants 3 times as much bonus thanks their blessing too
