On Wednesday, December 11, game designers Travis Day and John Yang joined Twizz, Archon the Wizard, Flux, and Monstrous for a livestream of Legendary proportions.
Watch the full 90-minute VOD below. To check out BlizzPro's full show recap, click here!
As you can see in the VOD, lots of creative suggestions were debated and praised, and we walked away with several viable Legendary powers for our upcoming one-handed, Mephisto-themed sword. But before we settle on exactly which Legendary powers are included in our next Design a Legendary poll, we wanted to give interested players one more opportunity to get involved and share their ideas.
If you didn't get to participate in the livestream or one of our earlier discussions, now's your chance. To submit a possible Legendary power for our Design a Legendary project, simply leave a comment below. We'll compile all the ideas we receive, pass them on to Travis and John for review, and then after the holidays deliver a list of of (up to) 10 different, player-inspired Legendary powers on which the community will get to vote. Whichever power gets the most votes globally at that point wins!
Note that if you've already submitted an idea by posting a comment to our blog or sending an email you do not need to resubmit here. Your idea has already been documented and sent over for review.
Patch notes are listed below for a quick and easy overview of the multitude of changes coming to Diablo III in patch 2.0.1 and Reaper of Souls.

Diablo III PTR Patch 2.0.1 - v.2.0.0.20847Below you will find the preliminary PTR patch notes for 2.0.1. Please note that this is not the final version of the 2.0.1 patch notes and that many changes have not been documented or described in full detail. New Feature: Clans & Communities
To better enable players to find and play with others who share similar interests, two new social features have been added to Diablo III: Clans and Communities.
Anyone can create or join a Clan, and doing so will give you access to the Clan window (default hotkey N) and display your clan tag next to your name. In the Clan window, you'll find a Members roster, a private chat channel, and a News & Info tab where Clan affairs and information can be posted for all members to read. Clans can support a large number of players with a currently undetermined cap and require an invitation to join.
In addition to Clans, players will also be able to join Communities. Like Clans, each Community has a Members roster, a designated chat channel, and a News & Info tab where stories and a Community description can be posted. While you are only able to join a single Clan, you can join multiple different Communities. Additionally, Communities can be designated as Public or Private, are organized by categories (such as Classes, Regional, and Game Type) and allow a nearly unlimited number of players, making them a great option for meeting new people outside your Clan!
New Event: Cursed Chests
Chests scattered about Sanctuary are now occasionally cursed, starting an event once they are inspected. Some chest events spawn in both Campaign and Adventure modes, while others are exclusive to Adventure mode. Like other events, completing a cursed chest event provides a small gold and experience reward. Chests offer a variety of challenges, including endless monster waves, timed events, and potentially spawning bosses out in the open world! Once the associated event is completed, the chest will be cleansed into a Radiant Chest, ripe for the looting!
Itemization Updates (Loot 2.0)
Treasure seekers rejoice! Loot has undergone several changes in Patch 2.0.1, all of which are designed to improve the item hunt in Diablo III. Major changes include (but are not limited to):
Paragon Updates
The Paragon leveling system has undergone several significant revisions to promote additional diversity and character customization past level cap:
Class Updates
All classes have undergone significant revision. Additional details and patch notes will be available in the future as changes continue throughout development and testing.
Crafting Updates
Crafting has received several quality of life changes. Major changes include (but are not limited to):
Difficulty Updates
The difficulty system has been completely revised. Normal, Nightmare, Hell, and Inferno have been removed, and this tiered system has been replaced with "dynamic difficulty," allowing monsters to level up with your characters.
There are also now a total of five difficulty settings that players can select from at-will: Normal, Hard, Expert, Master (unlocks at level 60), and Torment (unlocks at level 70). Torment includes a difficulty slider offering an additional six adjustments to tailor your challenges.
Each level offers new bonuses and rewards, visible in the difficulty selection menu. In addition, you can now lower your difficulty setting in-game (however, increasing your difficulty still requires exiting your current game).
Monster Updates
Several new potential affixes for elite and champion monsters have been added: Frozen Pulse, Orbiter, Poison Enchanted, Thunderstorm, and Wormhole. In addition, monster density has been adjusted across all Acts.

Reaper of Souls Closed Beta - v.2.0.0.20847Below you will find a list of major updates and features included in Reaper of Souls. Additional information about the Closed Beta can be found here.
For feedback on these changes, please visit the following Beta Feedback forums:
To report any issues you experience while playing, please visit the Reaper of Souls Bug Report forum.
ATTENTION: Please note that the Closed Beta also includes all changes from the PTR.
New Act: Explore Westmarch, the Blood Marsh, and Pandemonium
The latest chapter in Sanctuary's epic saga is now available for testing. Adventurers can explore the dark and sinister alleys of Westmarch, trudge through the murky Blood Marsh wetlands, and take the fight to the Angel of Death himself on the ancient battlefields and lost strongholds of Pandemonium. All content from Act V is playable (excluding the final boss fight).
New Level Cap: 70
Players can now advance their characters to level 70.
New Class: The Crusader
The newest class, the Crusader, is at your command! Deck yourself out in battle-ravaged full plate, pick up a mighty tower shield, and smite your enemies with righteous Wrath. This Strength-based, mid-ranged melee hybrid warrior has been fully integrated into all Acts of the game with all-new character interactions, quests, and gear.
New Gameplay Mode: Adventure Mode
Adventure Mode is Diablo III’s new sandbox, where players have the freedom to explore and play the game however they like. In this mode, all waypoints are unlocked, so players can go where they want, when they want—across any Act as well! Adventure Mode also includes two new features: Bounties and Nephalem Rifts.
To learn more about Adventure Mode, click here.
New Feature: Bounties
Bounties are optional, randomized objectives available only in Adventure Mode. In addition to providing players with a guided experience within a specific Act, Bounties are also intended to showcase all the different content Diablo III has to offer. Some examples of Bounties you can pick up include slaying a unique monster (like Mira Eamon), killing a boss (like Queen Aranae), clearing a dungeon (like the Khazra Den), and completing an event (like Last Stand of the Ancients). Each Act will have its own set of randomized Bounties for players to explore and conquer, and you'll receive new Bounties each time you start a new Adventure Mode game.
For completing a single Bounty, players will receive gold, experience, and a new currency called "Blood Shards." For completing all five Bounties within a single Act, players will also receive a greater Horadric Cache, full of randomized loot and crafting materials. Bounty hunters will also be rewarded with a new item, Rift Keystones. Rift Keystones grant access to another feature we're introducing in Adventure Mode: Nephalem Rifts.
New Feature: Nephalem Rifts
Nephalem Rifts (previously called "Loot Runs") are randomized dungeons that are designed to be completed within 10-15 minutes. The goal of Nephalem Rifts is to provide players with a rewarding, endlessly replayable experience, one that continually offers new and exciting moment-to-moment gameplay. . .as well as heaps of loot!
To access Nephalem Rifts, simply bring a Rift Keystone to any town hub and click on the nearest Nephalem Obelisk. Step through the portal and get ready to kill ALL the things. As noted above, Rift Keystones can be earned by completing Bounties.
New Currency: Blood Shards
Test your luck by spending Blood Shards, a new currency earned by completing Bounties and Nephalem Rifts. Blood Shards can be turned in to Lorath or Kadala, new vendors located in every town hub in exchange for randomly-generated loot and crafting materials.
New Artisan: The Mystic
Customize your gear more than ever with our newest Artisan, the Mystic. Alter the properties of your favorite pieces of gear with Enchanting to further tailor your play, and slice through your enemies in style by changing the look of your equipment with Transmogrification.
To learn more about the Mystic, click here.
New Class Skills
All classes have new class abilities available at level 61, as well as three new Passive abilities between levels 60 and 70!
In addition, characters now unlock an additional Passive slot at level 70.
Patch 2.0.1 is currently in development and now available for testing on the PTR. To learn about major changes included in 2.0.1, please see the official PTR patch notes. For information on how to participate, copy over characters, and provide feedback, read on below!
Further details on how to access the PTR and use the Character Copy system can be found in the FAQ.
How to Participate:To participate in the public test, you must have a Diablo III game license attached your Battle.net account in good standing (i.e. it hasn't been suspended or banned). In addition, you will also need to download and install the Battle.net desktop app.
Step 1: Create a PTR account. To create a PTR account, log in to Battle.net Account Management and double-click on your Diablo III game license; this will bring you to the game management page. On this page, click "Create a PTR account." (Note: If you've participated in any previous Diablo III PTR, the "Create PTR account" button may not appear. This is because you've already created a PTR account and can therefore skip this step.)
Step 2: Download and install the Battle.net desktop application.
Step 3: Once you have created a PTR account, installed the Battle.net desktop, and logged in with your Battle.net credentials, select “Diablo III” from the menu on the left-hand side of the application.
Step 4: On the Diablo III screen, there is a drop-down menu right above the “Play” button (note that this may say “Install” if you do not have Diablo III currently installed). Select “Beta: Reaper of Souls” from this drop-down menu before proceeding.
Step 5: You should now have the option to install and play the patch 2.0.1 PTR.
Please note that the 2.0.1 PTR and Reaper of Souls Closed Beta are running on the same client and, as a result, participants will be able to interact and even play with one another.
While the 2.0.1 PTR is only available in English and Korean, accounts from all regions are eligible to participate.
PTR Character Copy:The option to copy your existing Diablo III characters from your live account to the PTR will be available and can be done directly through the PTR client. However, only one region per account can be copied at a time. So, if you choose to copy characters from your account in a different region, any previously copied PTR characters will be lost.
Step 1: Log into PTR client and create a level 1 character. After you're done, return to the main character screen.
Step 2: Click on the "PTR Copy" button located in the upper right-hand corner. (The PTR Copy button will not appear in-game until you have created a new level 1 character.)
Step 3: Select your region.
Step 4: Click "Copy." This will copy all characters on your account from the selected region.
Step 5: You will be disconnected from the PTR client.
Step 6: Log back in. Your copied characters will be available for play.
Please note that you can only copy characters from one gameplay region at a time. If you choose to copy characters from a different region, any previously copied PTR characters will be lost.
In addition, you can only copy characters over to your PTR account once every 72 hours. Attempting to copy characters before this cooldown is up will result in an error.
Feedback and Bug Reporting:Once you've had the chance to try things out, be sure to visit the Public Test forums to discuss the patch.
As this is a test server, please anticipate uneven game performance, and note that restarts and downtime may occur without warning. We'll provide information regarding extended downtimes, should they occur, in the PTR Feedback forum.
