I love my WD

Just started using her to get some achievements and break the monotony of things. Makes me feel like a mafia boss watching my pets wack all those demons. MP10 normal is surprisingly easy with the WD.

Welcome to MP10!

Once you start to outlevel the mobs due to fast XP gain, it is going to get easier and easier! I believe this applies to all classes in Normal, although with WD you have more margins for errors and recklessness, and is faster to gain that 'outlevelness'.

I leveled my WD to 60 a while ago and not touched him apart from muling him items he should use.

Yesterday picked up a Thing of the Deep dirt cheap (it's only item I've ever bought for him!) & decided to give him a quick farm on my usual A1 route.

He was a blast to play.. and I had a re-look at the passive and skills options... and damn there seems to be so much build diversity there, specially with the use of pick up radius & it makes the runs so much easier without not worrying about scooping up gold!

I can see my WD getting a lot more paragon levels in the next week or so. I'm Off to Youtube to see whether I should stick with my Firebomb build, which i do love.

WD was by far my most favorite class, it just didn't do it for me when trying to paragon level as fast as possible, yet, its an amazing class

Prior to my "retirement" i was running a freeze WD build, its fun, not as effective as others but fun! Check it out, its quite cheap to gear

1 and a half paragon levels later....

Great fun, and it makes farming so much nicer with that ridiculous pickup radius on TotD. Now to take a zuni off the AH.. and find some boots to go with the mask I've just been given.. & maybe I'll get the chest armour too as it has really nice consistent rolls... I'd say I'm hooked.

Ahh, thats really interesting! Lots of versatility in this class. Thinking about doing a thorns/fire dogs/Axe of Sankis build when I finally hit 60.

It's kind of ridiculous how fast you can farm with a WD using Acid Rain. If my wizard didn't have 80 paragon levels I would switch to WD.

I did a few gear upgrades last night: http://www.d3rmt.com/forums/post/12722
I also got given a zuni helm but I do more damage with the giyua I got and it has decent mana regen.

It is super super fun and fast, my DPS isn't there yet for slightly higher MP's but I don't really care. The speed I can do a run is just nuts. Now I need to roll a half decent hellfire & work out which follower is best and I'll be set.

Finally made it to LVL 60. With Pierce the Veil, I'm hitting 132k DPS before I do Soul Harvest. I'm still experimenting with various weapons/offhands/builds. I'm making it a priority to figure out an effective MP8 build without the use of bears. Currently, I'm using Explosive Beast instead. The farther effective range is interesting as it allows me to hang back and snipe using Explosive Beast, Acid Cloud, and Fire Bomb while my dogs and gargantuan keep them at bay.

Here's a question: Does elemental damage effect the physical attacks of your pets?

I'm asking because I have pieces with cold/holy/poison damage and it would very cool if at least the cold pulls through to slow your adversaries further.

Could try running a Wall of Zombies Pile on build if you want something for high MPs that isn't bears.

Just had a quick peak and a better damage dealer rune for Acid Cloud is Lob Blob Bomb. You can have 3 of these little guys going at once, and at 250% damage over 5 seconds they're really nasty.

For fire bomb since you're a bit AOE I'd recommend you should try Flash Fire rune, which allows bombs to bounce 6 times between targets, if you you can quickly lob a bunch of bombs which then all rebound many many times it's pretty insane. It's really good on packs and you get LoH for each bounce (apparently).

With the above two changes your AoE starts to become pretty insane, specially if you have the damage that you do.

Not a fact of the Flash Fire rune. I prefer the Fire Pit rune as its more like a desecrator pool. The pets and spiders keep them in place while the fire pit and acid rain does most of the damage. I'm liking the blobs so far, lets see where it goes.

Been blasting MP0 XP farming I think im Paragon 16, so that's 13 levels in 1 week! Tried MP1 last night as I've had a few legs drop that were below ilvl 60 which made me sad. It takes a bit longer to chew through the mobs as my DPS is still quite low & died a couple times.

A socket'd mana's is 20M plus which I don't want to spend and not sure if there are any easy DPS wins for me except maybe ring & amu with CC/CD. I have a few rings I can swap around (pox , litany) but not much of a DPS boost between them & I want to wear the crappy hellfire for XP. Been looking at Blackthornes pants but again without high int + sockets I don't really gain much DPS and then they jump up in price.

I might try out freezing follower as I had an Azurewrath drop the other day so at least if it takes me a bit longer they shouldn't kill me.

any other ideas?

Cold and freeze damage migrates to Corpose Spiders/Widowmaker. Try and spamming them.

While I could switch my main attack to that rather than poison darts but the only thing I have with cold is a nats bow with lowly 800 DPS but it does have a socket. I'm not looking to splurge on a SoJ at this point.

I could try and snipe a better TotD as I did pick that crappy one up for 5027 gold :)) maybe that will give me the best DPS increase for my $.

Just a tip, Don't get Blackthorne's with sockets. They're incredibly overpriced and you can get better stats for cheaper if you just search really high int and really high vit. If you get two sockets you can only get average int and average vit (like in the 150's versus 190's if there's no sockets).

I love my blackthornes with 2 socket pants for the life on hit add and the added vit/life on hit they give when I use my blackthorne's amulet with 90% CD.

But you can get better without the sockets! haha

Just take a look at mine. Yours total has 151 int and 158 vit. With sockets that's pretty much as high as you can go for those stats. Mine has the same as yours, but 30 more int and you can still go higher. I've seen some go as high as 170 int and 220 vit. And I think you can still get like 180 int and 200 vit with all resists on them

Oh now I see what you mean. Yeah you can. But I like the plug and play of a socket.
