I had some luck last week and sold 2 on RMAH. One was a Skorn with 550+ Strength, went for about $17, and also an amulet with 278 str and both crits on it, went for $10. Seems like things only ever sell on Fridays and Saturdays for me on US servers tho. I dont think RMAH is dying but very specific in what will sell it seems.

If I'm going to buy with real money, I want the item to be great.
Makes sense that only exceptional items sell. |

True, I am still learning what will go though. The amulet I had that sold for $10, I found one almost exactly like it on GAH for 5m so I bought it....put it up on RMAH for $10 and hasn't sold in a week =(

Well, I just gambled on a decent trifecta amulet for 22.5M, anything close to it was going for 135M or more on GAH, trying to get $25 out of it, we will see what happens...I did sell a trifecta ring, was level 23 I had on an alt's companion...went for $3.99 which wasn't bad. Seems like lower level items are still selling. I used to buy Cain's Laurels for 100k on GAH and consistently sell for $3-4 on RMAH, might have to try that again =)

Out of curiosity I listed an Echo Fury I snipped this morning with 1054 DPS, 164 Strength and 101 Vitality on the GAH, I listed it now back on the RMAH for 4.95 Euros, curious to see if anyone will bid.

Had anyone of you guys have more than 2-4 sales in the rmah in the last week? I have tried to broaden my active market range but I just not able to sell any items ranging from a few bucks to up to 20 euros. I'm still sitting on a few nat and zuni rings that I want to sell.
Have a nice day and good luck on your sales! |

For reference, according to the D3 RMAH tracker, RS Emeralds are 3.93 EUR, 31 million Gold which means it's around 12.5 EU / 1 million. Given the minimum Auction is probably 1.25 EU if it matches the NA RMAH, that means you won't likely be selling anything at all worth less than 10 million Gold on the European GAH. The price of Gold has been plummeting on both North American and Europe so if you think you can sell something for currency at all, it's best to do it sooner than later.

Personally, I've sold 1 Nats ring this week for $2 and a Skorn for $15. I haven't been concentrating on RMAH sales currently as I'm trying to work out my a new DH build but I do see prices dropping for all commodities (yeah, I'm stuck with hundreds for FS rubies and thousands of brimstones) but I'll maintain those holdings in case there's a bump.

Had 2 high end rings sell this week - one over $50 take home ~ I'll get to the stats shortly on it for ya's.
My "lower" end rings have not been moving at all. |

RMAH is really weird. I sold many things within 1 day of posting From Monday to Friday last week. (Made about 100 mil+). Selling in the $9-$10 range. Then the same exact items for the same price didn't sell at all Saturday and Sunday (which should be the busiest days) and continuing into today. Really weerd how this stuff works. So now I'm just sitting on my items hoping they will sell or back to GAH they go I guess.

@ninjax
Is that self found or flipping? I find I don't flip much at the $1-2 range because of the margins. My sweet spot has been $4-10. However, your velocity might make up for that.... |

I'd say the number of people buying items on RMAH is VERY small. However, there is clearly a small market from people who are still vested in the game. My advice is to drop the price of an item reasonably low and then just sit on it. It might take awhile to sell, but it's better than nothing. Unlike the GAH, I don't think people are looking for deals as much and they won't be looking at the "Time Left". I think at this point, people who are buying items on the RMAH either have a lot of USD from playing the game or they're just casual players who actually spend real dollars on D3 items.
Either way, I wouldn't wait TOO long. I'd say we're getting close to that point where D3 items are pretty much meaningless and their value is bottoming out. |

@rimmi2002
Weekend sales tend to be lower priced, more undercutting. If you aren't price checking your items and repricing accordingly, sales tend to be slower. I find the only items I sell are the ones I've listed over the weekend, not the ones I priced earlier in the week and left the same. Those same items sell during the week the following week generally though..... |

If the auction house was at all rational, this should be the case - but the RMAH pricing tends to ignore the first dollar and seems to be more focused on the price floor of gold (not the actual price of gold). I don't get why, but desirable items will still sell on the RMAH that are worth less than 4 million on US servers and I'm sure it's the same on EU servers. I think the trick to having good item turnover on the RMAH is not pricing items based on similar items in the RMAH. The first reason why this doesn't work is because there are just so few items on the RMAH compared to the GAH, that it is hard to narrow down a good pricing range for any item that has a number of good stats (especially high-end items). Also, many people will overprice good items on the RMAH because they make the mistake of undercutting similar items on the RMAH. The best method is to actually price the item based on GAH prices. Since there are many more items to compare prices with, you can usually get a good idea of what your item would sell for in gold. I then price accordingly to earn the dollar equivalent of the amount of gold it would likely sell for on the GAH. So, if an item would probably sell for about 8 million on the GAH, I would put it up for $3.00 on the RMAH. After Blizzard takes one dollar off the top, I can use the $2 to buy 8 million gold assuming I sold the item to my Battle Net account balance. Of course, this doesn't ensure a sale of the item, but it's worked out pretty well for me with items in the 2-50 million range. As I mentioned before, this pricing method shouldn't work since Blizzard takes one dollar off every sale and the actual price of Gold is lower than the price floor - but it usually does as long as you're selling high demand items. |

I don't agree with most of the above but that's just me :D
I sell on the RMAH because the profit is better. That's what flipping is, no? I usually undercut prices of other similar items on RMAH to make sure I have a quick turnover of items but these would never be lower than what I purchased the items for on GAH. I like to know the markets I trade in well, often the items are what my characters use themselves so I have a good idea of what players are looking for and then snipe deals on GAH based on this knowledge. Key to profit is buying a really good deal in the first place. Sometimes markets just die.. I used to only sell rings, now Im trying to get rid of my remaining stock cause the market isn't there any more and I've found other markets with much better arbitrage. @nuhertz almost all of these were flips, one or two were self finds/old items not needed due to upgrades. |
