Holy crap!
Most expensive socket/cd axe with comparable average damage costs 590 mil on EU, BUT it only has 5x cd.
However, congratulations for finding/sniping this one!

@ecocd That one is a sell. It actually only gave me a 2.5k increase over my barb's EF so I couldn't justify the rather large attack speed loss.

I got this bid on it about 10ish minutes after listing it...insane. The ONLY sad thing about that is now I have to wait until the auction is over to collect...

that bad boy may be well worth upwards of 4B or 5B. You may have short-changed yourself going onto the GAH. Thats something that should probably been put up for sale at d2jsp or other sites that have the really, really high end players.

Congrats on the find sir

If a bid hits 2 billion, it would be logical for Blizzard to end the auction immediately. Sure hope that happens for you!

I'm a little surprised you didn't try putting it up on the RMAH first since $250 is now worth more than 2 billion Gold. It sounds like you were a bit surprised to get the 1.9 billion bid in the first place so it's certainly understandable. :)

Awesome find, but i'm pretty sure that's THE max bid you'll get - a lot of korean players are bidding 1.905B to save ~100M of gold. The reason being, there is a 5% increment minimum (last i checked) and at 1.905B, the 5% increment puts it above the $2B cap. Lesson being, if your think your item is worth 2B gold, it's worth putting either 2B min/2B buyout or just 2B min.

Yup. Hindsight is indeed 20/20.

It was late (early) and I was very tired. I should have done a little more research before listing it but I had no idea it would go that high...still happy with the result.

@nightcrawler I will not shut my piehole ;-)

Just thought of this as well, as 2B on the GAH is now worth $160 (and that's without blizz's cut) ~ take off blizz cut and it brings it down to $136 - thus you'll get almost 2x by putting it on rmah at $250.

By bidding 1.905B it looks like thats the max you can get as Blizz requires 5% increase - so you're stuck there and will have to wait for the auction to expire, i believe.

1.905B results in 1,619,250,000 GAH, which means you'll net out $129.54.

Lesson learned - hopefully for all here but unfortunately you're the one getting the raw end of the deal as you could have easily taken gotten $249 if you put it into your account or $211.65 by putting it into your paypal account.

And that's not even counting possibly being able to sell it at 5B at a private sale level.

Blizzard didn't think so many things out when they built this game it's mind-boggling.

I really don't understand the 2 bil max bid. Wouldn't they want to keep all transactions in house rather than give other sites the opportunity to cash in on their "intellectual properties"?

I've thought all along it's hedging against fraud. Putting a cap on the price means there's an upper limit to the damage that can be done on any single auction. You could argue $250 is a lot already, but make it $1000 or $2500 and that's a different world entirely.

Or they just figured no one would ever spend 2 billion Gold on anything anyway so it was a good place to put the cap.

So is that what happens when you "finnaly join the 3 comma club" ?

The game only then gives you drops that will double or tripple your money?

Wow i'm jelous. I also found a 1200 DPS black damage socketed spear, and mine sold for 35mil yesterday.
Had no CD, LOH or lifesteal, so I didn't expect more, but it's just insane how one single stat changes the price from 35mil to 2000mil.

And mine had 170 int, and -2 Firebomb as well.

Well, the auction finally ended. I wish I had done a bit more research on this. I could have ended up possibly doubling my profit on this beast, maybe even tripling.

Que sera, sera...

Either way mate, that's a boatload of cash.

If you'd traded it as RMAH balance you'd be stuck with a PITA job of buying out gems and reselling them on GAH (if it's gold you wanted)... Can you image listing 200+ ruby's and re-listing them as people undercut you? :)
