My monk is lvl 59.5 and I know quite a few people have them too. Lets post builds/advice/min stats to help each other out.

So far no crafting, but due to blackthorns I have slotted myself as arcane monk. Post your owe choice and we can help gear each other.

Lightning here, but I could change anytime since I have not committed myself to lightning. It was lightning as a start simply because my previous AB crafted gloves is lightning.

That day I looted an Arcane badass trifecta ring with AR. I did think of whether to switch to Arcane myself so that I could make use of this, or sell it such that I can do improvements on my WD or simply just overhaul my monk from head to toe. BTW price check on that ring is 650m and current bid from JSP is 300m+ while another player still thinking about it. Anyway I told them I would try the AH first with ridiculous buyout - there is no competition in AH and someone with billions may end up buying mine for billion+.

Regarding build, I wish I could have more skill slots. Some top HC players actually use dashing strike - quick silver to get out of nasty situation. It also depends whether you are soloing or group play. I intended my monk for group play, One of us could use Mantra of Conviction for DPS buff to all when needed.

If I play solo I probably just use Earth Ally for extra taunt in addition to Enchantress with Maximus, in the situation of a DC as you know I am quite paranoid about it. I would then rely on Wave of Light with AoE rune for mass clear.

Isn't TR monk kinda risky business on HC ? I always found the cookie cutter safer at farming.

I don't see why it would be worse on HC. Just need higher lvls than on SC IMO.

Last night I did a3 mp0. It was scary, but with a better ammy I think it would be okay. I mean right now I was doing it with no loh or LS and made it to p2.

Dropped a lot of money on a very nice maras with 70ar and 900 loh

Life seems a bit easier. Biggest problem now is skill and some effects of elites.

Not being able to use owe is annoying, but I will work to ensure I have a group build with gear.

Okay my monk is officially physical (for now), so let me get first dibs on any physical res gear. Picked up a freshly post in as vast with physical res and 194 Dex 61 vit for 40 mil.

So far I cannot get enough AR to tempest rush with 4 piece bonus, but I'll get there...someday.

If you do go Tempest Rush, please please please don't do it until you get a life steal dex Skorn. At least that's how I'd go about it. Without one it's too risky to me but with one you rarely die on low monster powers.

So far so good. Was finally able to run with passive owe and aside of my dps being a little low it's going pretty well.

I would love a gear check advice posting from old school monks.

Flying dragon dropped with LS and it was amazing! My Lise hardly ever moved. I am now looking for a Akron with LS. They start at 30 mil grrrrr

Well today I see LS skorns start at 66 mil. Double grrrr

Might have to give HC another go once I'm satisfied with my SC life...

@Anuiran Welcome to the HC world. When I see you online remind me to hand over some of my lvling gear I HOPE to not need as I have lvl 60 Monk, WD, Barb.

@baldy I see your posts...wtf more could you want in SC??

either way I have a bunch of gear for either of you, and I know our little HC grp will always be down for power lvling. Just remember this isnt SC...and your badass toons dont got your back. I lost 4 monks before getting to 60, 2 wds (one at 60 vs 1st elites pack).

My monk has been started... Using my dh twink gear - well, except for the bow and quiver obviously. When you are leveling do you normally use a shield or dual wield?

I dual wield till socket able weapon. The SnB since it hard to find two equal weapons. Plus some proc effects (see odans) do better solo

Hmmm... don't know what SnB is, but I may be past it anyway. For being Monk world, this thread is sorely lacking on info about leveling... :)

What I heard is that Fire and Physical tends to be the most expensive to gear up, due to more players selecting these two.

Fire: Convenient choice when players are selecting Cindercoat/ Firewalkers which have fire resist as a fix roll (not sure if anyone likes The Burning Axe of Sankis though)

Physical: For monks who do not go for OWE, physical could be there more prefered additional resist type. What I heard is RD mobs reflect physical to you. Also you would face fiercer competition on gears with physical resist and usable by other class e.g. trifecta with physical.

Agreed, but the blacksmith crafted me I to phys. And boots I might be getting (need to borrow 50 mil ASAP ) will cement it.

Still alive and kicking. Plvl 28 I think. Bid 15.9 mil on a loh 1300 skorn. REALLY need/ want a LS skorn, but the average 200 mil or so. Someday, but hoping this skorn allows me to upgrade my ammy from all ehp to some dps (CC) needed for sure.

Didn't win loh skorn. Wonder what it went for.
