I'm looking forward to this patch. I don't get too much time to play so it'll benefit me for sure.

Havent finished all Acts yet in a straight row. Just doing Act 1 gave me around 16 exp bubbles (At 94/95 PLvl)

Might do it tonight and let you know.

Considering I finished the speed run achievement for all of my runs in Inferno MP1, I'd say from my calculations anywhere from 2 and a half hours for a TR monk to 3 and a half hours as a class which doesn't use speed boosts.

So quests will also provide EXP after this patch? Might add a decent amount ontop of kills EXP. Not sure, otherwise I was thinking of starting an act before the last boss and simply clearing everything. Thoughts?

yeah well some areas in Act 1, 2 and 4 are time wasters because they are not as straight forward as Act 3.

Impressive. =) Good to hear. So far I've spent my time levelling 5 softcore characters, start to finish and recently began levelling a DH in hardcore. Level 51 so far. Looking forward to it.

I've noticed this also.

Time investment in multiplayer is lower, however, if you're interested in a speed run, because people can spread out. One of the biggest time sucks in full clears are the searching quests like finding the Khazra staff and searching for the Vault of the Ancients. With 1 player, you'll have to cover, on average 66% (total guess) of the area on your own. With 4 players actively searching, you're still covering some 66%, but you can probably cover it in 1/3 the time (1/3 because you're going to be overlapping somewhat).

You have to take solo survivability in a 4-man game into account. More likely, you would split into pairs for survivability and halve your searching time.

I see two goals for the Act/Game Clear. (1) Run it as fun way to gain maximum XP; (2) Run it as fast as possible gaining XP along the way.

As group motivated by maximizing their XP will actually run the entire searchable areas together. The monster density increases in 1.0.8, however, make it such that even these searching areas are giving you good XP while you search so they're not nearly the same waste of time they are in 1.0.7. That's going to take a little longer than a solo run, because you're herding cats.

As group that just wants to run as fast as possible, while still gaining a large amount of XP would run search patterns. Due to the search patterns, you probably have to drop your MP level one or two notches for the sake of survivability.

What I'm saying is that like all of the skill changes, Blizzard is giving us alternate options. You can clear the entire game with a Hydra Wizard or Sentry DH now, but it's going to be far less inefficient than a Blizzard Wizard or Elemental Arrow DH. Back in 1.0.4, you couldn't do it at all so the patches gave us more options. In 1.0.8, Blizzard has gifted us with full Act clears. They will never be as efficient as a targeted XP run, but in 1.0.8 you won't be losing as much efficiency as 1.0.7.

This game gets better with every patch and they've made enough changes now that I would probably say 1.0.8 is one step beyond what we could have reasonably expected at launch. It's my opinion that we should have had at least 1.0.6 at launch, but such is life. When the expansion rolls out and we get a bunch of pre-1.0.5 players jumping back in, it's going to be a serious shock to their system and they're going to wonder why they ever stopped playing in the first place.

For a full clear, I'd assume people looking for max efficiency would start on the last quest of Act 1, clear the most efficent areas in Act1, and continue through Act 2-4. If I do clears, that's what I'll do, so I don't have to do all the slow XP quests in Act 1.

What I do is start on the quest to find Adria's underground house and go on from there. Its really not that bad. You do get quest exp now and if you find that one side quest like jars etc, you get a NV stack.

If I'm not mistaken, side quests are in every game no matter what quest you start on. Starting at the end just allows you to skip around. I like to do Warden and Butcher at the end though.

So the XP for shadow vermin have been nerfed in the most recent PTR patch. Will the little spiders in the caves also be nerfed in coming changes? Me thinks so.

The chance for Shadow Vermin to drop loot has been reduced by 50%

All Keywardens will now only appear in Inferno difficulty

Certain areas in Act I and Act II have received further adjustments to Monster Density
